The Final Villain in One Punch Man Unveiled: Is It God?

Saitama is one of the strongest and funniest characters in anime, and his ability to beat enemies without breaking a sweat outshines all others.

Because of his ridiculous powers, the show’s writers have introduced us to countless villains, each with a unique and potent ability.

This made me wonder who the final villain of the series will be. So, I did a little research (read the entire manga to date), and what I found was, for the lack of a better word, very intriguing.

The Final Villain of One Punch Man is God himself. God Wants to eradicate all of humanity and bestows people with powers to accomplish this goal.

But Who exactly is God, what are his goals, and what are his powers? In this article, I’m going to tell you just that. So, let’s get into it!

1. Who Exactly is God in One Punch Man?

God is the main antagonist of One Punch Man. He hides himself from humanity and doesn’t want his existence to be revealed to the world.

That is why we do not know the actual appearance of God, nor do we know where he resides. He appears in people’s consciousness and communicates telepathically with the help of some mysterious cubes.

God has made many appearances. His first one was with psykos, where “God” looked like a swirling gust of wind with scribbles that outlined a person.

2. What does he want?

God wants to Eradicate all life on Earth and maybe the whole Universe. God agrees with the Idea of the ‘Homeless Emperor’ that humanity is a worthless plague on an otherwise grand and beautiful planet.

However, he also doesn’t care about other life forms on Earth as well, as when he gives Garou his powers, each punch he throws has a deadly amount of cosmic radiation oozing out from it, Contradicting the idea that God only wants to eradicate Humans.

God can also go to extreme lengths just to keep his existence from people, as he killed the Homeless Emperor right before he was about to tell Zombieman the name of “God.”

God’s interference in our dimension increased significantly after he saw Saitama and was interested in him. They were giving hints that they may fight in the finale.

3. What are his powers?

God’s Powers Include Power, Bestowal Telepath, Mind Incursion, and dimension travel. Still, as God has never actually fought people in his proper/physical form, it is difficult to deduce God’s combat abilities.

Power Bestowal: This is one of the most used powers by God; God can give people a fraction of his power, turning them into monsters after deeming them worthy of receiving this power.

God does this with the help of his ‘Mysterious Cubes,’ scattered worldwide. If the person is not worthy of receiving said power, they face “forfeiture,” with the mysterious entity presumably killing them.

God can also talk to anyone who touches the cube using telepathy. Besides this, God can readily travel through dimensions, enter people’s minds, and turn himself invisible to the point where even Saitama cannot detect his presence.

4. About One Punch Man

One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero webcomic created by the artist One in early 2009. It has a manga adaptation illustrated by Yusuke Murata, as well as an anime adaptation. Following its publication, the webcomic quickly went viral, surpassing 7.9 million hits in June 2012.

On an unnamed Earth-like supercontinent planet, powerful monsters and villains have been wreaking havoc in the cities. To combat them, the world’s government created a Hero Association that employs superheroes to stop them. The heroes are ranked from Class C to Class S.

Saitama, an unassociated hero, hails from the metropolis of City-Z and performs heroic deeds for his own entertainment. He has trained himself to the point where he broke his “limit” and can effortlessly defeat any opponent with a single punch while slaying monsters the same way. But he is now bored with his omnipotence and frustrated by sensing he lacks a challenge.
