The latest edition of the zombie version of High School Musical released on Disney channel earlier this year on Valentines Day. But everyone (read fans of singing and dancing zombies and count me out) are waiting for the go-ahead to stream Zombies 2 on Disney+.

Maybe August 14?
While there has been no official announcement as to when the second part of Zombie film series comes to the streaming app, the general consensus seems to be August 14.
Another Disney original, Descendants 3, also came to the platform 6 months after it’s television release. Now you know to hit the panic button if Zombies 2 does not arrive on Disney+ by August 14.
Maybe earlier
However, chances are coronavirus might just bring a pleasant surprise (not so pleasant for non-fans of Zombies), and you might just be able to cue it on Disney+ sooner than August 14. This, considering the release of films and shows have been pushed up on Disney+ ever since the lockdown.
For instance, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were added on Disney+ much earlier than their original release dates.
As you wait for Zombies 2, you could turn to Disney+ to catch up on the first part, which is currently streaming.
Cast and plot
Zombies 2 is the sequel to the 2018 musical Zombies. The backstory is that over 5 decades prior to the film’s premise, an accident at a power plant near the town of Seabrook gave half the population a taste for human flesh.
However, using exceptional scientific abilities, the rest of the living humans created a special collar that, when placed on a zombie’s neck, would have them acting like a regular human.
But then that did not necessarily mean that they no longer had any issues with their neighbors.
The first movie followed a teen zombie, Zed (Milo Manheim), who goes from Zombietown to the human half of Seabrook. He becomes a student at Seabrook High and falls in love with a human, Addison (Meg Donnelly).
The teen couple manages to convince both humans and zombies they can live together without harming anyone. (Sound familiar?)
The sequel, Zombies 2, also goes the Twilight way and adds werewolves to its universe.
These werewolves are on the search for the moonstone (Remember Lupin’s love for the moons?) so they can keep living in the human world. Zombies 2 will once again feature Zed and Addison as they continue their teen romance in this chapter.
