My Hero Academia Ch 402 Raws & Spoilers: All Might Self-Sacrifices to Defeat AFO

All Might and Stain team up against All For One in chapter 401 of My Hero Academia, titled “The Lunatic.”

With Stain’s paralysis affecting All For One, they try to converge on him and finish him off as quickly as possible. However, All For One had already prepared for his quirk and expels all his blood outward, stunning them both and launching a counter.

Before any of them can react, All For One focuses all his attacks on Stain and takes him out before All Might can even reach the area.

1. Chapter 402 Release Date

No, Chapter 402 of My Hero Academia is not on a break this week. The manga will be released on the above-stated date.

2. Chapter 402 Raw Scans

According to the spoilers, My Hero Academia’s Chapter 402 is titled “The Tearful Day.” The chapter begins with Shoto and Ochako on the ground as the cops confirm they’ve both done their jobs of stopping Dabi and Toga. 

We see that the Twices have vanished from the U.A. and that Momo is fighting them with a spear in her hands and machine guns on her shoulders.

Deku manages to keep Shigaraki away from U.A. and fight him in close quarters, but now All For One is getting closer to them.

He plans to use a gloop warp, bring Tomura closer, and give him the synthetic copy of the All For One quirk to complete the body hijack finally. 

All Might tries to taunt him, but AFO says he’ll complete his plan first. He uses the gloop warp, but Shigaraki refuses to go. The goo starts to come out of Shigaraki’s mouth, but he closes it.

He then says, “You’re a nuisance, sensei.” AFO understands that Tomura’s consciousness is far too strong and changes to plan B, which consists of grabbing All Might by the leg and flying him to Deku and Shigaraki.

All For One says that All Might was the one who put this idiotic dream in those kids’ heads, so now he has to pay the price. 

Tomura teases Deku by saying he has to save All Might and that, in the meantime, he’ll go and kill everyone who’s at U.A. 

Deku is panting like crazy; he had been forcing himself not to cry because All Might said he had to stop being a crybaby, but he’s at his limit. The All Might vestige also starts to fade, “forewarning his farewell.” 

The next page shows Deku shouting, “All Might!!!” with tears flowing from his eyes. All Might starts reminiscing. 

In the flashback, Deku asks All Might, “Can I become a hero even without a quirk?”.  All Might replies by saying of course you can. 

After all, you always do your best and never give up on your dream. I’ve never been able to give up on mine either… my dream of being the symbol of peace.

All Might then grabs All For One’s neck with the arm that still has a gauntlet on and smiles! 

All For One suddenly remembers Nana’s last moments but doesn’t know why. She was a pathetic woman who died ridiculously, so why?

Nana, in her last moments, said: “All For One, All Might is going to defeat you… because Toshinori is crazier than you”. 

The scene then cuts to the present and says, “If you die one more time, you’ll rewind into a kindergartener, right?” and his gauntlet explodes. This ends the chapter, and the manga will be on break next week.

3. Chapter 402 Speculation

The death of Stain, a central character of the series, is a massive blow to everyone. Now that All For One has completely turned the tides of battle, All Might is done for.

I. All Might’s Death

This is a certainty at this point since there is no other way this fight can end. Crawling on the floor with no support items, quirk, or legs, Toshinori is purely conscious on willpower. All For One will kill him in the next chapter, which will serve as a vital point for Deku’s powerup.

II. All For One warps to Shigaraki

The falling U.A. is currently in range of his teleportation, so All For One could instantly get to Shigaraki and take control of his body. This would mean ignoring All Might since he isn’t a threat. However, Deku will still make it to All Might for his final moments.

4. Chapter 401 Recap

All For One’s body is paralyzed, and Stain rushes in to capitalize on the attack. He had been following the battle’s destruction trail and spotted a blood stain on a rock. After smelling it, he realized it was All For One’s, not All Might’s.

Toshinori understands why Stain is important now, and his existence gives the heroes a reason to continue serving the people. Even if the strongest falls to the ground and can do nothing but crawl, they can still come for the life of Stain, the hero killer.

Before the two can converge on All For One, he activates Phlebotomy and explodes into his blood. He had been preparing countermeasures against Stain since Tartarus and modified this blood composition to be useless to him.

All For One grabs Stain and throws him through multiple buildings, and he goes to steal his quirk. All Might rushes to save him, but he can’t make it in time. Stain puts his arms up in forfeit and tells All Might to win this battle and continue living on.

All For One crushes Stain’s body and prepares his next blast for the incoming All Might. He has no time to evade the attack, but Hercules sends its final shields in time. The attack hits head-on and penetrates all of the defenses.

Toshinori hears Nana telling him to get up again as he lies on the ground. He realizes that his legs and support items are all gone; there’s no reasonable way he can fight anymore. However, All Might is not dead yet. He beckons All For One with a huge grin once more, refusing to stay down until he’s dead.
