One Punch Man is not just an anime but an emotion since its release in 2015. The anime gained immense popularity with both the Japanese and Western audiences alike.
One Punch Man is written by the artist ONE. ONE wrote the original webmanga version in early 2009, which got adapted into a manga. Later it got adapted into the anime series that we all know and love.
One Punch Man season 1 aired in October-December 2015 with 12 episodes. With intense fights, humor, and determination to grow stronger giving us a complete action package that we still love to this day.
We had to wait for a long four years for season 2, which was finally released in 2019 with 12 episodes. Those 12 episodes felt so short as it ended with a cliffhanger and made us thirst for more.
Making fans like me, all in anticipation if there ever will be a season 3 for One Punch Man.
1. Will there be a Season 3 for One Punch Man?
There is no official news about a season 3 for One Punch Man, but thankfully, there is no news of a cancellation.
Season 1 was a huge success, thanks to the production from Madhouse. Season 2 didn’t live up to the expectations like season 1 did as J.C Staff Studio produced it.
As of now, there is no news if either of the studios will take up the project or another studio comes into play. With the way season 2 ended, it assures us that a season 3 is needed.
2. When Will One Punch Man Season 3 Release?
Season 2 was released four years after season 1. If a similar schedule is followed, we may likely see the release of One Punch Man season 3 by Summer 2022 or early 2023.
Till then, we have to wait patiently, flashing back to the sweet memories of seasons 1 & 2.
3. Is There Enough Source Material For Season 3?
Source material plays a vital role in determining the possibility of a sequel. With that said, One Punch Man manga currently has 23 volumes. Season 1 used 1-7 volumes for the anime adaptation, while season 2 used 8-16 manga volumes.
That means we are still left with plenty of material for the next season. One Punch Man manga is still ongoing, so we can expect more seasons from the anime series.
4. Plot-What To Expect From One Punch Man Season 3?
One-Punch Man season 3 will most likely follow the Monster Association Arc. The Heroes Association launches an attack on their evil counterparts, with all the major S-Class heroes infiltrating their hideout and engaging in one-on-one battles.
This should mean that season 3 is an action-packed affair with plenty of epic fight scenes. We may not see much of Genos in the next season of One Punch Man.
Season 3 will likely focus more on other characters such as Child Emperor, Atomic Samurai and Garou, and introduce a raft of new Monsters. Fortunately, Saitama also takes part in a secret mission, so we may see some fabulous punches coming along the way.
5. Characters To Expect In One Punch Man Season 3
Besides Saitama, who else do we expect to be part of season 3? Well, here is a sneak peek at some of the characters we may see in season 3:
Blast is the S-Class Rank 1 professional hero of the Hero Association. He is the most powerful hero in the Hero’s Association besides Saitama. He has a weird hobby of collecting Mysterious Cubes, for which he travels around.
Garou is a villain, a martial arts prodigy, the self-proclaimed “Hero Hunter,” and a major adversary of the Hero Association and Monster Association. He is a former disciple of Bang.
III. Black Sperm
Black Sperm is a Dragon-level Mysterious Being and an executive member of the Monster Association.
Tatsumaki, also known by her hero alias Tornado of Terror, is the S-Class Rank 2 professional hero of the Hero Association. She is recognized as one of the Hero Association’s most powerful heroes.
V. Handsomely Masked Sweet Mask
He is the A-Class Rank 1 professional hero of the Hero Association. Apart from his hero profession, he is a famous model, actor, and singer and is the most popular star in the world.
Though there is no news from the creators, we need not worry much given its popularity and availability of resources.
With the year almost coming to an end, we may soon see our favorite insanely strong and oblivious hero Saitama back in action.
7. Where to Watch One Punch Man
8. About One Punch Man
One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero webcomic created by the artist One in early 2009. It has a manga adaptation illustrated by Yusuke Murata, as well as an anime adaptation. Following its publication, the webcomic quickly went viral, surpassing 7.9 million hits in June 2012.
On an unnamed Earth-like supercontinent planet, powerful monsters and villains have been wreaking havoc in the cities. To combat them, the world’s government created a Hero Association that employs superheroes to stop them. The heroes are ranked from Class C to Class S.
Saitama, an unassociated hero, hails from the metropolis of City-Z and performs heroic deeds for his own entertainment. He has trained himself to the point where he broke his “limit” and can effortlessly defeat any opponent with a single punch while slaying monsters the same way. But he is now bored with his omnipotence and frustrated by sensing he lacks a challenge.
