Netflix Reveals The Plot For One Piece Live-Action Season 2

May 5 is a date that every One Piece fan remembers, even if they forget historical dates and math formulas. After all, it’s the birthday of the best PIRATE CAPTAIN, Monkey D. Luffy.

To celebrate the day, Netflix dropped a short clip. However, there is a secret in the end.

Netflix Dropped a Video Featuring Iñaki Godoy

On May 5, Netflix revealed a short video featuring Iñaki Godoy, who plays Luffy in the One Piece live-action. The actor celebrated Luffy’s birthday in the clip by cutting a cool-candle-looking cake with a candle shaped like the number “3.”

At first, it might seem ordinary, but it hints at Mr 3. or Galdino. He was the main antagonist of the Little Garden Arc and one of the central characters from Miss Goldenweek’s “Operation: Meet Baroque Works,” along with the rest of the Baroque Works Officer Agents.

One Piece Live-Action Season 2 Plot Expectations

The wax cake and the number “3” indicate Mr. 3 and his Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to create and control candle wax. This means we can see him and the other Baroque Works villains in season 2.

Season 1 followed the East Blue Saga and part of the Loguetown Arc. For Season 2, the story will most likely conclude the Loguetown Arc and then move on to the Arabasta Saga. In the Loguetown Arc, the Straw Hats will face off against Captain Smoker and fend off enemies who are after their bounty. Additionally, this is where Monkey D. Dragon is introduced.

The Arabasta Saga consists of 117 chapters, so it’s unclear how much of it will be covered in the second season on Netflix. The East Blue Saga, which was 100 chapters long, has only the final section left to be shown.

Netflix has announced that One Piece Season 2 will commence filming in June 2024 and be released in 2025. The announcement was made in 2023 after the renewal of season 2 was confirmed.

Season 1 was very successful, earning over 40M views in just two weeks. We might also see the previous cast return due to their stellar performance, including some new additions.

Overall, the upcoming season is poised to be even better, and the hype is real, as Netflix has plenty of surprises stored in its vault.
