The aftermath of the war is made apparent in episode 16 of My Hero Academia season 6, titled “The Hellish Todoroki Family, Part 2”.

After multiple losses to both the heroes and the villains, Best Jeanist and Hawks take a round around the city and see the catastrophe that the war has caused. Rising mistrust of the hero association is shared among the populace, and they have nothing to do.

Endeavour’s past behavior has finally caught up to him in the form of Toya, and all of his doings have been outed to the public as well. He must somehow find forgiveness, not just from the crowd but from his family as well.

Episode 17 Speculation

The entire Todoroki family has grouped now, and Endeavour will likely begin to try and get their forgiveness for their past and explain himself. Shoto will be confused over the whole situation after fighting Toya himself.

Moreover, Hawks will likely begin going on his path and trying to find salvation in his work. Bakugo and Deku’s interaction was also not shown in this episode, so it will likely happen in the next one with possibly a lot of emotion.

Recap of Episode 16

Bakugo forces through everyone else even though he is still recovering, but he desperately wants to see Deku in his hospital room, where he lies asleep. He needs to go and talk to him urgently.

We see Hawks as a child, watching the top heroes of the time on television, showcasing their feats and heroic power to the maximum of their ability. Living in an abusive household, his childhood was ridiculously traumatizing.

His father was caught by Endeavor as a child, and he was shocked. Some officials eventually approached him and his mother, who offered to take the boy and make him a unique hero through training.

We return to the present, and Hawks is in a car with Best Jeanist, who fills him out on the details of what has happened in the recent present and how he was able to survive. Glutton God, a low-level villain, attacks the city town but is quickly captured by Best Jeanist.

They find out that the police of the area aren’t coming to answer their calls since they are overwhelmed with work, considering the large number of villains apprehended in the recent war, and even the citizen population is starting to distrust the heroes.

The Safety Commission is technically out of service, and there is no longer anything tying Hawks down. He talks about how he admires Twice since, even in his last moments, he only wanted to help others.

Best Jeanist talks it over, and he decides that he needs to tie up many loose ends in his life. The city is currently panicking after all the war events, and even more low-level villains begin getting more confident in their attacks.

Even the civilians have begun hating the heroes, and the number of them decreases as more and more start resigning to preserve their responsibility, inecluding the No.9 Hero, Yoroi Musha.

In a world where peace was taken to be granted, the collapse is quickly beginning to snowball into reality. Endeavour looks down at the enraged population through his hospital window, pondering his life now, his inability to do anything in the fight with Toya.

Everything he has done in the past has finally caught up to him, and even the No.1 hero faces the consequences as the rest of the family comes to visit him. He apologizes in tears for everything he has done to them, and even Rei has reached the scene.
