It’s time to assemble all the battle anime fans. Kengan Ashura is back with its dynamic action loaded fight sequences, probably for the last time.
Now that we all have watched the first two seasons, this one is literally making me weak in the knees, as this most likely would be the last season.
In this post, we are gonna talk about the Season 3 release date. We will also take a look at several aspects and details of the popular battle shonen.
1. Release Date
The third season is expected to release sometime in July 2020, although no official announcement has been made yet. The action-packed series is streaming on Netflix with two seasons.
2. Theory Section
In the theory section, I will discuss various facets of the show, such as the studio, what’s my take on the show, what makes it popular, and the visionary behind this series.
I. About the Studio
Kengan Ashura is produced by ‘Larx Entertainment,’ a subsidiary of Studio Hibari. They are widely known for their work in ‘Blast of Tempest,’ ‘Fairy Tail,’ and ‘Blue Exorcist.’
There was no change in the studio, and the whole production will once again be handled by Larx Entertainment only.
II. About the Show
Gory. Blood. Violent. Martial Arts. Thrilling.
Everything about Kengan Ashura revolves around these terms only. With the dynamic action and a badass protagonist, the show will swoop you off your feet in moments.
I am certainly impressed with the way anime has been so loyal to the manga, especially with the subtle development of numerous characters in the show.
On a side note, this show might prove to be better than ‘Baki’ in one way or another because the show actually focuses on its plot and characters.
III. What makes it popular?
Apart from the characters being so charismatic and badass, the anime also manages to emphasize on different forms of martial arts.
People really got into this dynamic, action-packed battle anime due to its unique way of fighting and the adoration for the characters, especially the protagonist — Tokita Ohma, his long messy black hair, ripped muscular physique.
His passion for fighting is enough to make you drool. What happens here is not just a fistfight but a slugfest constituting of hardcore fighters.
Furthermore, Kengan Ashura has probably the goriest and creative violence in all of the anime shows.
IV. About the Mangaka
The creator of this brutal and jaw-dropping series is none other than the great Yabako Sandrovich. He trained in martial arts from a young age – Shaolin, Kung Fu, Karate, and Grappling.
If you’re fascinated by the details and the fight choreography, all thanks to his knowledge and training.
Currently, he is working on Kengan Omega, a sequel to Kengen Ashura, set two years after the original series’ events. His other famous work is ‘How heavy are the Dumbbells you lift?’ Surprised? You better be.
3. Production Update
There has been no official announcement made yet about the release of the third season. There’s always the fear of showing getting delayed due to the outspread of Covid-19, which has caused havoc in the anime industry.
Buckle up and don’t be surprised if the release date gets pushed to 2021.
There has been no announcement regarding the third installment of the series.
5. Expected Storyline
Part Two of the anime covered 10-18 volumes of the widely acclaimed manga series. The last season ended with the epic showdown between Ohma and Raian of the Kure Clan.
The third installment is going to cover the remaining volumes of the manga series from 18 to 27, focusing more on Tokita Ohma’s journey among the corporate-gladiator world and defeating the so-called strongest fighters.
Part 2 of Kengan Ashura started from where it previously left, from the first round of the eighth match between Kiohzan Takeru and Jun Sekibayashi. The last season explored more of the inner workings and politics that go around all these brawlings.
We witnessed some of the most incredible fights from the gladiators. It was more thrilling and exciting than the first season. Behind the scenes, Yamamashita’s eldest son, who apparently was the president of Under Mount Inc., was preparing to save his life from the assassins of the Kure Clan.
As the season progressed toward its end, there was an epic battle between the best of the best — Tokita Ohma and Kure Raian.
7. Cast and Staff
The cast and staff for the third installment are –
- Director – Seiji Kishi
- Series Composition – Makoto Uezu

- Music – Yasuharu Takanashi
- Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Tokita Ohma

8. About the Kengan Ashura
The widely proclaimed manga series was created by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daroemon. It first appeared in April 2012 in Ura Sunday Magazine and instantly became a hit among the readers.
Surprisingly it took the manga seven years to adapt to an anime series. Still, when it did, in no time, the show became a sensation among otakus. The manga ended on August 9, 2018, after a successful run for six years.
