NieR: Automata Writer Turns Creator for KamiErabi GOD.app Anime

The anime adaptation of NieR: Automata impressed fans with its animation. Overall, the narrative did receive mixed reactions, but it still leans toward positive because of the character dynamics between 2B and 9S.

Meanwhile, another anime project has been announced that will be based on a concept by the creator of NieR: Automata.

On Wednesday, Fuji TV announced that Yokō Tarō, writer of the game and the anime is creating an original anime, titled KamiErabi GOD.app. A teaser video and a visual have been revealed as the first look into the anime. The anime is planned for release in October.

In the teaser, you get a brief glimpse of the setting and the characters. The story seems to take place in modern Japan, where the characters are school students. The characters have not been revealed, but the animation and the designs look great.

Hiroyuki Seshita will direct the series with UNEND as the producing studio. JIN is handling the scripts. Atsushi Ohkubo is designing the characters, which explains the similarity with Fire Force characters. MONACA will compose the music for the series.

The visual above shows the main character on a train, with other characters’ faces redacted. The tagline translates to “God, the world today is still healthy and going crazy.”

There is a lot more that needs to be revealed about Kamierabi GOD.app. The characters’ eyes matching the hairstreaks are unique. Either way, the first look is impressive and the story seems dark and worth a go.
