World’s End Harem: After World Manga Wraps Up with Chapter 47

When it comes to the ‘end-of-the-world’ theme, we have seen a lot of concepts and possibilities – human petrification, infertility, alien invasion, and even the eradication of an important part of the ecosystem.

‘World’s End Harem’ manga takes on the ‘eradication-of-men’ theme and displays a world with only a few male survivors. The manga entered its final phase in December 2022 and was expected to conclude within this year.

As predicted, the ‘World’s End Harem: After World’ manga was officially completed on May 7 with Chapter 47 (the 132nd chapter overall). It was in continuation with the original manga.

The first part, simply known as ‘World’s End Harem’ ended with Chapter 85 on June 2020. After a 10-month hiatus, the manga resumed with the second part ‘World’s End Harem: After World’ in May 2021.

The manga has been highly popular among readers, with many characters becoming a part of the pop culture. An anime adaptation also premiered in 2022, which has covered about eight volumes.

With that said, it has also received mixed reviews for being too fan focused. Despite having several ecchi moments, it does bring up topics that may not have been unearthed otherwise. But it does not do anything to quash the social negativity.

The harem genre has been controversial and will probably always be. But a plot-centric harem should be looked at with a neutral lens. I hope the second part of the anime gets announced soon so that everybody gets to watch how it ended.
