The Unfinished Symphony: What Lies Ahead for Bleach Anime After TYBW?

Bleach has been a fan favorite for many years. However, after the end of Bleach: TYBW, fans have been left wondering if the anime will continue beyond the manga. Here’s what we know so far.

1. The Current Status of Bleach Anime

The highly-anticipated “Bleach: TYBW” became one of the most exceptional series released in the Fall 2022 anime season.

The “Bleach: TYBW” anime series is not a sequel to the original 2004 anime but a continuation of what that original series never adapted.

The original series adapted the vast majority of the series’ story arcs. However, the franchise fell short of the Thousand Year Blood War arc due to behind-the-scenes issues. Thus, the TYBW anime series was created to continue the original Bleach.

So, the anime is still being adapted from the final arc of the manga, and no new stuff has been released.

The Bleach anime also consists of several spin-offs and additional adaptations that are not considered sequels. While fans may eventually get a story focusing on Kazui and Ichika Kurosaki, this seems unlikely from Tite Kubo’s end.

2. Additional Adaptations

While not necessarily a sequel to Bleach, the “Burn the Witch” anime film is set in the same universe as the mainline series.

Rather than following the Soul Society from what Bleach fans know, the focus now shifts to the Soul Society’s West Branch. Although featuring new characters and enemies, it is also considered a spin-off rather than a sequel.

3. The Future of Bleach Anime

The upcoming Bleach projects are set to continue the mainline series rather than independent sequel projects. The second part of “Bleach: TYBW” has finished, and in conclusion, while there is no official sequel for the Bleach anime or manga, several spin-offs and additional adaptations continue expanding the universe.

Fans can look forward to more content from this series in the form of Spin-Offs, but not anything canon.

4. About Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the final arc of the Bleach franchise. It premiered on October 11, 2022, and its 52 episodes are streamed by Hulu.

The arc deals with Yhwach, the leader of the Quincies, who has declared war on the Soul Society. Ichigo and the Soul Reapers will face this despicable enemy.

Hollows and Soul Society residents are disappearing, and Ichigo needs to defeat Yhwach before he lays waste to the entire universe.
