The fifteenth episode of Vinland Saga was released on April 18, 2023, and was titled ‘Storm’. Gardar, who has killed his master, has come looking for his wife, Arnheid, and his son, Hjalti. However, he is soon captured by Snake and has received multiple wounds.
Arnheid who has seen her husband after a long time decides to go and tend to his wounds. However, the situation does not go as planned and Gardar ends up killing several retainers. What exactly is the fate of Arnheid and Gardar now? Let’s find out!
Arnheid comes to tend to the wounds of Gardar who proposes to her to run away with him and start a happy family again. He kills the guards but sustains an injury in the process. Arnhied tries to hide him but he soon passes away.
Events of Vinland Saga Season 2, Episode 15
The Fifteen episode of Vinland Saga starts with Arnheid who tries to get to Gardar to treat his wounds. When she is rejected by Snake, she pleads with one of the guards who takes her to her husband.
Gardar apologizes to his wife telling her that everything was his fault and that he wants to reverse the hourglass and live happily with her. This moves her and she starts to bawl for a long time.
The guard then approaches Arnheid to get her out of the place.However, Gardar leaps and bites the guard on his neck, tearing a huge chunk of flesh. Blood spurts from his neck and the guard dies. He then asks Arnheid to untie him but she seems immobilized by shock.
The scene then cuts to Einar and Thorfinn and they discuss how to stop the cycle of war and slavery. Thorfinn believes that the only way to stop this brutality is by finding a place where people don’t need swords.
Einar replies that the place must be beyond the reach of Vikings. This prompts Thorfinn to recall the land far to the west mentioned by Leif. However, this discussion is cut short when Fox and other retainers come to search for Gardar and Arnheid.
What happened with Gardar and Arnheid?
The episode cuts right when Gardar is asking Arnheid to free him as the retainers are coming from the shelter. It is established that Gardar and Arnheid have successfully escaped from the guards as we see Fox and other retainers trying to search for them.
It is also a fact that Gardar must have been wounded which is confirmed by the swords of the killed retainers. They must be hiding somewhere nearby since Gardar is wounded. Now, will Fox and his retainers find Gardar and Arnheid? Let’s find out!
Fate of Gardar and Arnheid!
Soon after, Gardar kills the guard, and Arnheid helps him by cutting the ropes. Gardar then kills all the guards and sustains a severe injury. Gardar dies due to the injury and Arnheid is recaptured and brought back to her master’s stable.
However, Ketil soon learns the truth and beats her out of rage and jealousy which ends up killing her unborn child. She eventually dies after succumbing to her injuries and her tragic chapter comes to an end!
