Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 14 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

A runaway slave rings alarms all around the area in episode 13 of Vinland Saga season 2, titled “Dark Clouds.”

As word from  Kjallakr’s farm spreads around the city, Snake reinforces security around the farm in order to capture the runaway slave who burned down Kjallakr’s house as well as killed everyone within it. Meanwhile, Sverkel begins succumbing to the woes of old age.

Thorfinn and Einar comfort Sverkel in his weakness and help with the errands around the house, with Arnheid also sent to make food for them all and carry out her duties as an enslaved person.

1. Episode 14 Speculation: 

Arnheid has called out to the runaway slave with his real name, and it is revealed that she is his wife, which will spark a lot of action next episode as this creates a massive conflict between Snake and the others and Gardar, who is clearly hostile.

We may see a fight between Snake and Gardar, which could go either way or end in a draw. Considering both sides’ overwhelming strength, it is likely that Arnheid will be the one to settle the fight and bring it to a compromise.

3. Recap of Episode 13:

The episode starts with a house burning down, and its inhabitants wounded, and in despair and uncertainty for their life. The man of the home runs out of the building and begs for his life from the man in shackles in front of him, who refuses his apology and ends his suffering.

Einar and Thorfinn walk back on the path from the farm as they reminisce about Master Sverkel and how much their lives will change from now on. After becoming free and choosing what to do with their lives, Einar wants to get a chance to free Arnheid. 

Snake interrupts him with his screaming in the evening as his stomach begins rumbling. He immediately sprints to the farm on his horse, begins scanning for something, and finds what he fears most as his grandfather lies face down on the ground, unconscious.

Luckily still alive, his grandfather begins feeling powerless and prepares for death as he lies on his bed when Arnheid visits him in his house and cooks dinner for everyone that night. Everyone immediately scarfs down the food with a newly found appetite.

After the meal, Einar helps Arnheid with the dishes as they talk about old Sverkel, unaware that he can hear everything from his room. They talk about their fun dinner when one of the other guards comes in search of Snake and reports a runaway slave.

They hear of the slave that killed his master, Kjallakr, and burned down his house before escaping. Snake gives out orders to strengthen their security forces and even calls for reinforcements before trying to fight him since he is a dangerous opponent.

They eventually run into him, resting on the side of a tree. They begin arguing over the reward, which grows louder and wakes the sleeping enslaved person, who immediately chops them down.

Thorfinn eavesdrops on the bible reading as Snake reads it out to Sverkel as Einar and Arnheid continue running the house errands. Thorfinn slowly tries to understand its philosophy and perhaps find a meaning that applies to him too.

Snake later realizes that Sverkel may not have much longer to live and warns Thorfinn and Einar to repay his kindness soon. A messenger horse comes dashing but is being ridden by the runaway slave. Arnheid runs to and stops him as she screams his name, Gardar, her husband.
