In Chapter 185, Thorfinn opens the gifts that the Lnu tribes have sent them. It includes traditional food and spices that they never heard of before.
Thorfinn also finds a huge stone disc that has been used for playing a traditional sport called Tchung-Kee, for ages. Here, the stone disc is randomly rolled, and the participants have to predict its final position with spears.
Then onwards, the trust between the Norsemen and the Lnu tribes grew stronger and stronger. They started trading with each other, thereby getting mutually benefitted by each other.
By Autumn, Thorfinn’s clears a huge mass of land and makes it ready for cultivating wheat. He did so by cutting down a huge number of trees, and expects to see golden wheat fields by next Spring.
Meanwhile, the Lnu tribes are concerned about the high rate at which trees have been cut down. Despite the benefits they are receiving, the loss is too much for the natural ecosystem they worshipped for so many years.
The situation worsens when the girl known for her prophecies, Nisquaji’J, dreams of the entire land turning into desert. How will Thorfinn deal with the growing dissatisfaction among the tribesmen? We have to wait for the next chapter to find that out.
