Tower of God, the beloved South Korean webtoon by S.I.U., made its anime debut in 2020, much to the delight of its dedicated fanbase. After a period of eager anticipation, the release window for Tower of God Season 2 has been unveiled, igniting a renewed wave of excitement and dedication among its loyal fans.
The Tower of God webtoon is centered around Bam’s extraordinary journey. As an Irregular, a term for those not destined to enter the tower, Bam’s unwavering determination becomes the driving force, leading to encounters with a diverse cast of characters and a series of challenging situations that form the backbone of the story.
Finally, Tower of God season 2 has returned, continuing Bam’s epic quest in a tower where dreams come true. The new season was officially announced in August 2022 at that year’s Crunchyroll Expo, nearly two years after the completion of the inaugural season. The announcement was made through an exciting trailer, further fueling the anticipation and excitement among fans.
Additionally, Tower of God season 2 is set for a July 2024 premiere window. As with season 1, Tower of God season 2 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll.
The first season was simulcast with its Japanese weekly broadcast, and the current expectation is that Tower of God season 2 will follow the same streaming strategy. The first season contained 13 episodes, and it is yet to be confirmed whether the episode order will follow the same pattern in season 2 or if episodes will be divided into different cours within a season. The new season of the popular webtoon adaptation will supposedly air in two cours. Whether the broadcast will be two consecutive cours or a split is yet to be confirmed.
Tower of God season 1 covered much of the plot, adapting 78 chapters of the webtoon series, covering the first major part of the story. However, with just as many chapters to go and new weekly releases, Tower of God will not end anytime soon as it moves to adapt the Return of the Prince and Workshop Battle Arcs.
Fans are excited for the new season, and much discussion is happening across the fandom. Ideally, the first cour covering the Return of the Prince arc and ending at the Hand of Arlene cliffhanger will be perfect. Following that, the second cour can continue adapting the Workshop Battle, where Bam and his friends prepare for the battle.
Season 2 of Tower of God will take us deeper into the manga’s Return of the Prince arc, set six years after the first season’s events. The season holds the promise of unveiling more about Jyu Viole Grace and the enigmatic mysteries of the tower, introducing new characters and their roles, and keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
