Haikyuu is the go-to sports anime series for fans around the world. Everyone has their own dream team & players from Haikyuu but some names are common amongst all these teams.
10Date Tech High
Also known as the “Iron Wall”, Date Tech High is blessed with one of the tallest players in the game.
Thus, they offer the highest blocking rate in the country. They have a unique strategy of blocking where all three blockers stand in the middle and move left or right as a single unit.
They have a 100% win rate against Karasuno in practice matches.
Both Nekoma and Karasuno are natural rivals due to their coaches being longtime competitors. Nekoma players are really flexible and due to that, are also called Cats.
A team coached by Little Giant is never under par and Karasumo proves it well. Spiking is their strong point and they also utilize some out of the box techniques such as Calculated One-Point Two-Setter and Libero Toss.
They might be very low on the list but they are certainly a power-packed team. They even managed to defeat Wakatsu’s team who comes under the top 3 national spikers.
They are risk-takers and deliver challenging matches. They are also popular for having twins in their team. They bring their own orchestra and cheering squad to drain confidence from their opponents.
The former team of Wakatoshi Ushijima, one of the best spikers the country has and absolutely kills the other team’s defense.
Ushijima’s father also played for Shiratorizawa and back then they were more successful than the current team. However, you can’t deny the fact that the current team managed to beat Aobajohsai in the finals.
Better known for their special players like Hoshiumi, who is also called today’s Small Giant, “Immovable Hirugami” and the 2-meter player. Their specialty is their formidable defense which uses shifts where they pre-judge the opponent’s spiker and adjust their wall accordingly.
My personal choice and everyone’s favorite! They are represented by an Owl and are part of Fukurodani Academy Group. With the help of other schools from the group, they host training camps for everyone.
They are currently at rank 4 in Tokyo because of their ace Bokuto with whom they have reached nationals every year since he joined.
This team comprises one of the country’s top three aces, Sakusa and the best Libero of the country, Komori. They have held the Interhigh championship many times.
Before announcing the top 2, here are some of the honorary mentions: Aobajohsai, Tsubakihara Academy, & Nohebi.
Schweiden Adlers is a professional volleyball team in Japan’s V. League, in the top tier of Division 1. They are V. League champions for three consecutive years now.
Wakatoshi Ushijima – one of the top 3 aces & Kageyama Tobio – one of the top 2 setters are both members of Schweiden Adlers along with Korai Hoshiumi – the small giant.
1MSBY Black Jackals
They are also part of Japan’s V.League, in the top tier of Division 1. Their name is as cool as their jersey and matches it as well.
They rock an all-Black jersey with a Golden claw mark printed at both front and back. This team has a lot of fan-favorite players. The #1 wing spiker and setter – Kiyoomi Sakusa & Atsumu Miya, along with the two most-favorite spikers – Hinata and Bokuto are a part of Black Jackals.
Hinata Shoyo is a highly passionate boy who wishes to follow the steps of his idol, ‘The Little Giant’ in the field of volleyball. Hinata’s resolve is unbreakable as he faces gruesome defeat at the hands of the ‘King of the Court,’ a genius prodigy setter Kageyama Tobio in middle school.
Hinata’s dreams take fruit as he enters high school. Hinata joins the declining volleyball team of Karasuno High and is appalled to find the very same Kageyama as his teammate.
As Kageyama and Hinata realize the potential of their abilities as a duo, Karasuno High starts taking flight with the opportunities at hand. The story follows the revival of Karasuno High and the unity they maintain to pave their way for nationals.
