We have seen an over-powered slime beat goblins, wolves, and ogres into submission before adopting them all into the Tempest family. However, a slime with human ideals is bound to get them all in trouble.
That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime, popularly known as ‘TenSura,’ is based on a light novel series by Fuse and artist Mitz Vah. Before it got an ongoing manga adaptation, it was published as a book in 2013.
Filled with witty dialogues and humor, the subtle poke at the overused tropes doesn’t go unnoticed. It adds to the factor making TenSura one of the most popular anime of 2021.
Season 1 starts with the introduction of Satoru Mikami, who dies at the hands of a petty thief. After getting reincarnated as a slime in a fantasy world, he befriends a dragon and embarks on a journey, meeting new friends and foes on the way.
The last we saw in the anime was Rimuru leveling up to a Demonic Slime Race and become the ultimate demon lord. The fans cried in outrage at the cliff-hanger of the dead coming back to life.
But before we fans get to see more of the new Demon Lord in Season 2 Part 2, the characters will be going on a vacation.

1. The Slime Diaries Release Date
The official website has confirmed that ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as A Slime: The Slime Diaries’ anime will release on April 6, 2021. It will run for the course of 12 episodes.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the spin-off series on the same day as its Japanese release. Meanwhile, Funimation will stream the series’ sequel on its platform.
Studio 8bit also returned for animating this isekai adaptation.
2. Visuals And Trailers
A new visual was released confirming the spin-off’s release, even after the delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The visuals feature Rimiru and her family members, Gobuta, Shuna, Shion, Benimaru, Ranga, and Souei.
Rimuru is enjoying a delicious dessert while reading his diary as Gobuta and Ranga look on. Shion is about to spill a cup of hot tea, and Souei doesn’t seem to make any move to help her. Meanwhile, Shuna and Benimaru are busy quarreling with each other.
The official site has also released two trailers for the upcoming anime adaptation of the spin-off manga.
The PV shows all our favorite characters arguing heatedly in a meeting. The topic of discussion: which dress should Rimuru wear? Then a footage of all the things that Rimuru and the others do in their free time is shown.
It also features the opening theme of the series, titled “Brand new diary” by Akane Kumada. It ends with the announcement of the anime’s release in April.
The official trailer is shown as a monologue from Rimuru, as he recaps what happened to him after his reincarnation. It sets the premise of Rimuru keeping records of his life events in a diary.

The Slime Diaries is a spinoff manga which focuses on Rimuru’s diary entries. This particular series is light-hearted and wholesome compared to the original adaptation.
It serves a break between the two cours of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime is a Japanese manga series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online in 2013 but was later shifted to Micro Magazine as a light novel in 2014. It currently has 21 volumes.
The story of Tensei Shitara Slime follows the journey of Satoru Mikami after he died and reincarnated as a slime in fantasy land. A slime is a creature that reproduces the form and powers of anything that it absorbs or eats.
Satoru starts eating all the magical herbs and crystals in the cave he woke up in and stumbles upon a dragon who had been captured and couldn’t move due to a barrier. Since both of them had nothing else to do, they befriend each other. The dragon accidentally makes Satoru a named monster, and Satoru promises him that he’d find a way to break the barrier. Hence, an unknown journey begins with this unusual friendship.
