New Video For ‘The Quintessential Quintuplets~’ Previews Opening Song

Futaro Uesugi and the Nakano sisters are making a short comeback for ‘The Quintessential Quintuplets~’ special. A few months ago, the announcement did surprise us all. We expected a short series showing Uesugi going through moments of awkwardness and helping the five girls once again.

Later, it was revealed that it will be a special and will also get released in theaters. The stories are set during the summer vacation when Uesugi is on a break from tutoring and preparing for his exams.

On Friday, the official website for the side story special ‘The Quintessential Quintuplets~’ released a new trailer. The video includes new scenes from the special and previews the opening theme song. The special will debut on July 14 in theaters and run for three weeks. It will also premiere on TV this summer.

In the video, we see the Nakano sisters and Futaro Uesugi. It mainly features one of the stories where Uesugi and the five sisters are at the beach. There is some footage showing the girls walking somewhere and another one showing them in traditional attire.

The voice artists for the quintuplets are singing the opening song “Gotōbun no Mirai” (Five Equal Futures) and the ending theme song “Takaramono” (Treasure).

The main cast for the special is returning from the anime and is listed below:

The staff producing the special also revealed that the theaters will hand out square illustrations of the Nakano sisters in swimsuits to audience members. The illustrations will have a QR code to view an original video.

Ayana Taketatsu and Miku Itō will also make an appearance at a stage event on July 16 at the Shinjuku Wald 9 Theater in Tokyo.

Because it was announced that the anime will show stories that were not adapted earlier, I hope that there are at least three different stories to share. A single story might also be possible, but not something fans would look forward to.
