In episode 96, Mamane takes the place of the main protagonist as we see him struggling to do his best for the Fiarrow 2 retrieval mission. We meet an Ampharos named Denryu, who is helping him in this mission.
The episode is set in Tokusane Space center, where Mamane works with scientists for the said mission. Satoshi and Gou meet Mamane and accompany him on this mission, encouraging him to achieve his dream.
The crew faced some problems because of Denryu’s absent-mindedness, but things worked out by the end of the day with the help of Satoshi, Gou, Pikachu, and some other pokemons. All in all, it was a cute and exciting episode.

Episode 97 Speculations
Episode 97, titled “Yadoking! A Curry-ously Great Encounter,” might occur in Slowpoke Island, as we see from the preview. The episode might feature the Galarian variant of Slowbro and Soulking, and we’ll get to see a fun-filled episode.
We see a few Yadons with yellow heads. Satoshi and the team eat something that results in them throwing fire from their mouth because it is too spicy. Satoshi seems to be possessed by a helmet-like thing on his head.
Meeting old characters again seems interesting as the next episode will probably be a sequel to the second segment of a two-in-one episode featuring Slowpoke island.

Episode 96 Recap
The episode starts with Satoshi and Gou meeting Mamane at Tokusane Space center. Denryu is accompanying Mamane, he is an absent-minded Amorphos who smashes his head into Satoshi in the first encounter itself.
Mamane is there for the Fiarrow 2 retrieval mission, where they have to guide Fiarrow, an asteroid explorer, back to Earth. Satoshi misunderstands the Fiarrow as a Pokemon, but Gou corrects him that it’s not like that.
Denryu is a lighthouse beacon whose light will guide Fiarrow back to Earth. He seems to be discouraged at all times because of his clumsiness.
When he is ready to go in a chamber for the mission, he mistakenly hits Satoshi and Gou by his tail and steps on Togedemaru, who hits a machine causing the machine to short circuit.
When the mission starts, Denryu fires a beam of light from his tail which starts to bring the satellite in the orbital.
Suddenly, the machine hit by Togedemaru catches fire, causing the immediate replacement of Denryu with another one from the other observatories.
Denryu gets upset and runs away into the forest. Mamane is also upset that he has failed to tame Denryu as he borrowed it from Mr.Mullein, his cousin. Satoshi is able to motivate him to keep working hard for his dream.
They then set out to find Denryu. Meanwhile, Sarunori starts to follow a light thinking that Denryu collides into another Pokemon, causing him to lose his way.
The group then finds Denryu, and Mamane talks to him, apologizing for not taking care of him. They urge Denryu to try and send light to find Sarunori. At first, he cannot do so, but with a little more effort, Sarunori spots him finds his way back.
Denryu feels motivated, and they head back to restart the mission. Denryu is all set to his job, but due to an asteroid, Fiarrow lost its trajectory.
Mamane then uses some math to find a way to pull the satellite back into its orbit. He tells Mr. Satoshi to tell the other observatories to send the light to pull it back.
When Denryu sends the beam of light, it cannot reach the satellite because of thick clouds. Satoshi and Gou send Pikachu, Togedemaru, and Raichu to help him send more light. They can send that and bring the satellite back into orbit, completing the mission.
They then say their goodbyes with Mamane telling them that he will try his best to become an astronaut and Satoshi and Gou moving on to their next adventure.
