One Punch Man gained massive popularity with both the Japanese and Western audiences alike.
It became an instant uproar and broke records. Saitama, the protagonist of the show, was loved by everyone who watched the anime or read the manga. With season three of the anime approaching, its earlier seasons are being put in the limelight.
Muse Asia, an upcoming streaming platform, recently announced that they would begin streaming season one & two of One Punch Man starting June 14 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8. New episodes will be available daily at the same time until July 7.
The first season of the show was launched back in 2015. It introduces us to the world of One Punch Man, where monsters often run rampant, and heroes are called upon to defeat these vile creatures.
After having trained himself “till his hair fell off,” Saitama has achieved the pinnacle of strength. A single punch from him can defeat even the toughest of villains, and frankly, this makes his life really dull. In an attempt to spice up his life, Saitama joins the Hero Association alongside his disciple — Genos, who is a cyborg.
The second season continues this story, and adds the Monster Association and Garou, the hero-killer, into the mix. The whole anime tries to mock the concept of typical superhero stories with a protagonist who defeats everything in a single punch. Despite this, both seasons exhibit a terrific story with fantastic fight sequences.
The third season for One Punch Man is expected to premiere sometime in late-2020 or early-2021.
About One Punch Man
One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero webcomic created by the artist One in early 2009. It has a manga adaptation illustrated by Yusuke Murata, as well as an anime adaptation. Following its publication, the webcomic quickly went viral, surpassing 7.9 million hits in June 2012.
On an unnamed Earth-like supercontinent planet, powerful monsters and villains have been wreaking havoc in the cities. To combat them, the world’s government created a Hero Association that employs superheroes to stop them. The heroes are ranked from Class C to Class S.
Saitama, an unassociated hero, hails from the metropolis of City-Z and performs heroic deeds for his own entertainment. He has trained himself to the point where he broke his “limit” and can effortlessly defeat any opponent with a single punch while slaying monsters the same way. But he is now bored with his omnipotence and frustrated by sensing he lacks a challenge.
