Netflix’s Most Viewed Anime of 2019

2019 was an easy year for fans to watch anime online due to immense competition among the streaming companies and more globalization of these anime brands. Netflix has been trying to ace the anime game for a couple of years now but is still outnumbered by other solid streamers like Crunchyroll, with hundreds of shows on their roster.

In a recent blog post from Netflix Japan, they released a list of top 10 most-watched animes on the service in 2019.

The list is as follows:

  1. Ultraman
  2. Neon Genesis Evangelion
  3. One-Punch Man
  4. Kengan Ashura
  5. Attack on Titan
  6. The Seven Deadly Sins
  7. 7 Seeds
  8. Dr Stone
  9. Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious
  10. Arifureta: From Commonplace to the World’s Strongest

The post doesn’t go into much depth. Still, it can be seen that a Netflix Original, Ultraman took the number one spot, which is pretty evident since Netflix does heavily push their Originals. The remaining list is dominated by newer animes, which is actually a piece of good news for the anime universe.

Although there are no actual numbers that say how well these shows performed, it satisfies a lot of anime fans seeing a streaming giant like Netflix promoting anime. It is also in the good interest of the anime fans like us if they keep investing in animes anyway.
