Chapter 406 of ‘My Hero Academia’ is titled “Understand Your Own Quirk!!”. The battle between Bakugou and All For One intensifies as the war nears its end.
The Hero Association wraps up most battles and tends to the injured heroes. Several villains, including Skeptic and the Nomus, are apprehended, while Kurogiri has gone missing. Eraser Head and Present Mic are also nowhere to be found.
Rewind is reaching a critical point in All For One, making him desperate to get to Shigaraki. Amid the battle, Bakugou learns more about the secret of his explosions.

1. Chapter 407 Release Date
Chapter 407 of ‘My Hero Academia’ will be released on Sunday, November 19, 2023. It is a weekly manga, and new chapters are released every Sunday. You can read more ‘My Hero Academia’ manga on Viz Media and Mangaplus.
I. Is My Hero Academia on a Break?
My Hero Academia is not on a break this week. Chapter 407 has not been delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Chapter 407 Raw Scans
According to the spoilers, My Hero Academia’s Chapter 407 is titled “Paranormal Orphan.” The chapter begins with a prostitute who contracted a “disease” a year ago, causing a small spike-shaped tumor to grow on her left arm.
But she didn’t notice it for eight months because the two babies growing inside of her were draining all her strength. She gave birth to the twins at a riverside and died soon after, but the “tumor” on her arm mysteriously disappeared.
When rats came to eat the corpse and the babies, the river’s current carried the babies away.
A year later, a glowing baby was born in China. Many studies concluded that this phenomenon was a new addition to the human genetic factor.
However, publicizing this information was a bad idea because it created a notion that those with powers were not human, leading to widespread chaos.
A few years later, we see an extremist anti-meta abilities group walking at night, and they find a child All For One.
They believe he’s an “orphan of the paranormal,” and even if they feel bad for him, it’s better not to go near him because he’s probably “infected.” AFO then frighteningly looks at them and kills all of them with the spikes quirk, shredding their bodies. That’s the quirk he stole from his mom.
We see a small All For One attacking some more people, but Yoichi throws a can at him. The narration explains that AFO stole all his mother’s nutrients, making his brother small and weak. AFO kicks Yoichi and keeps walking.
The narrator explains that, although Yoichi couldn’t give him anything, he was one of AFO’s “things,” so he kept him.
A few years later, the radio announces that the “glowing baby” is now fighting on the front line, defending peace. Meanwhile, Yoichi is reading comics.
All For One asks what he’s reading, and Yoichi says that he can’t read complicated books yet, so he’s studying comics. He thinks it’s incredible how the author conveys a message just through the drawings and that one day, he wants to be like Captain Hero.
The narrator says that Yoichi still believed in his brother’s goodness because, deep down, he remembered that AFO held his hand when they were babies. Three years later, the glowing baby has gathered more than 10 million supporters, but that doesn’t make sense.
Fifty people with quirks were born in India before the glowing baby. He has no right to command so many people if he isn’t the first one, which is why AFO killed him and stole his power. Yoichi asks why he did that, and AFO replies that he’s doing it like the comics.
In the comics, they said One For All and All For One, and he loved it. While the hero fights alone with a secret identity, the villain reigns through fear. Just as Yoichi dreams of being a hero, he aims to create a world where everything exists for his sake.
The next panel shows Kudou pulling Yoichi by the hand. And we see Yoichi’s hand cut off and surrounded by blood. The chapter ends, and My Hero Academia will be on a break next week.
3. Chapter 407 Speculation
All For One is desperately trying to ignore Bakugou but failing miserably. Unless he gets to Shigaraki, All For One will rewind out of existence and fail his mission. Since Bakugou knows this, he will try to stall the battle for as long as possible.
I. All For One vs Bakugou
After being enraged by Bakugou’s similarity to Kudo, All For One intends to fight. Since Rewind has already made All For One a child, Bakugou may stand a chance in a head-on battle. Bakugou has also understood the secret behind his explosions, making him much stronger than before.
II. Shigaraki vs Deku
Shigaraki cannot interfere in All For One’s fight since he’s occupied by Deku. Izuku plans on using his final Gearshift to end the battle in one go. This plan has a huge risk since the recoil from Gearshift may fatally injure Deku. Even if the attack hits Shigaraki, his regeneration and enhanced body may make it meaningless.
4. Chapter 406 Recap
All the wounded are being tended to after the battles near the Central Hospital. On Okuto Island, the Hero Association regained control after defeating the Nomu. Toru and Aoyama free the injured heroes from the plants and take them to safety. However, Ojiro’s battle at Takoba Arena continues.
Hound Dog has apprehended Mr. Skeptic, and the evacuation is complete. All the civilians from the malfunctioning block are safe now. In the ruins of Jaku Hospital, not a single villain remains standing. Kurogiri has disappeared along with Eraser Head and Present Mic.
Nagant is still injured and can’t move; she knows the rest of the battle is in Izuku’s hands. All Might is shaken by Bakugou’s speed and the strength of his explosions. Edgeshot explains that at the brink of death, he moved faster than Shigaraki. Bakugou is currently learning more about his quirk.
All For One doesn’t have time to deal with Bakugou right now as Rewind catches up. Shigaraki knows that he has to break Bakugou one more time for them to win. Deku realizes that he has been on the defensive the entire battle. Shigaraki’s regeneration, instadeath, and enhanced body make it difficult for Deku to do any damage.
Izuku’s next Gearshift will be the last since the blowback will prevent him from moving. Since the power will be enormous, Deku decides to take the risk and finish the battle with one last Gearshift. All For One ignores Bakugou and speeds toward Izuku.
Since Bakugou isn’t as strong as Endeavor or Dark Shadow, All For One considers him a mere pebble. However, this pebble has finally realized the secret of his quirk. The strength of his quirk is dependent on the amount of pain from Bakugou’s nitroglycerin sweat.
By timing the explosions with the pain, Bakugou uses multiple secondary explosions to catch up with All For One. Unable to handle the strength, Bakugou slams into the ground numerous times but still reaches speeds that could contest Deku.
Masaru hesitates to watch the battle, but Mitsuki assures him their boy is smiling throughout the fight. All For One is baffled that a random hero angers him more than All Might. It finally clicks that Bakugou looks just like the 2nd One For All user. All For One screams at Bakugou in rage, calling him Kudo since that’s who he sees. However, Bakugou retorts smugly and reminds All For One that he’s Kacchan of the Bakugos.
