My Hero Academia fans have waited a long time for the second stage play of the franchise. After getting delayed twice last year, the play hopefully has a performance date and some more good news.
As with every live event last year, the much-awaited second stage play also fell victim to the pandemic. After a whole year, the play will come back with an extended new version and a couple of new characters.
My Hero Academia: The “Ultra” Stage: Honmono no Hero PLUS ULTRA version stage play will run at the Tokyo Dome City Hall from December 3-12, 2021, and at the Kyoto Theater from December 24-26, 2021.
The 38th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has released an updated visual for the stage play.
The new visual features all the students of Class 1A except Ojiro, Koda, Sato, and Shoji, and All Might. According to the director, Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi, this extended version is supposed to be the true version of the story.
This new version of the play will feature more characters, including villains like Dabi, Himeko Toga, and Twice. The cast for these characters is yet to be released.
The official website has also announced a new stage play for Spring 2022.
Although there hasn’t been an official announcement, the play will probably be available for live streaming through Live Viewing Japan, much like the first play of the franchise.
Hopefully, this will be the final date for the play. With the new movie, the current arc in the anime, and the manga, this news just adds to the already high My Hero Academia fans.
