Episode 2 Recap
Once the evacuation work has been completed at Jaku General Hospital, the Pro Heroes decide to fight the enemies all-out. Mirko tracks down the real Dr. Kyudai Garaki, while Endeavor and others oppose the Nomus.
His grand plans, however, seem to be on the verge of failure after he runs straight to Tomura, concerned that they may not work.
As Mirko flees to the other end of the secret laboratory, one of the High Ends attacks her. Though there is a significant impact, the No. 5 hero emerges from the debris with no severe injuries. To stop Dr. Garaki from executing his evil plans, she runs straight in the direction where he fled instead of focusing on the High Ends.
Nevertheless, top-tier Nomus chase after Mirko and prevent her from getting away. As well as defending herself, the Pro Hero starts taking on her enemies.
As Mirko pushes her rivals away with her powerful kicks, she realizes that they are, in fact, weaker than she is. Using Luna Tijeras, she kills one of these bio-engineered soldiers after learning that their heads are not strong.
Pro Heroes led by Edge Shot are ambushing students near Gunga Mountain Villa. Kaminaris and the Tokoyami are also on the front line with their seniors. In contrast to Kaminari, who is carefree and confident, the former is tense and nervous.
Then Midnight looks at him and offers him advice on what he needs to do right now to keep something of value to him in his heart and mind and fight for it until the end. When Kaminari starts running toward the villains, he recalls Jiro cheering him on from a distance. Kaminari gains confidence and determination as he is concerned for his well-being.
While Skeptic tries to warn the Paranormal Liberation Front members of their impending demise, the Paranormal Liberation Front refuses to listen. A PLF commander approaches Skeptic, reassuring him that it is time for them to do battle with the heroes.
He stands outside and uses Amplivolt to attack the heroes from a long distance as they approach the villa. He redirects the electricity instead of showing any fear, providing an opportunity for his companions to engage the villains in a full-scale battle.
By infusing corpses with multiple Quirks, Dr. Kyudai Garaki creates the Nomus. In most cases, they can’t think for themselves and can’t do anything they’re not programmed to do.
Based on their strengths and Quirks, Nomus are categorized into lower, middle, and upper tiers. Upper-tier Nomus typically have ten times more muscular strength than ordinary people. High Ends, on the other hand, are an additional tier of Nomus, higher than even the upper tier.
A High End has superior strength and combat abilities compared to an upper-tier Nomus, but they can also think independently and complexly. They still rely heavily on the personality they once had when they were alive to guide their thought processes and general outlooks.
To make High Ends, Dr. Garaki selected only villains willing to fight for their survival. Although finding and preparing the battle-crazed villains was difficult, the whole process was worthwhile.
In some instances, High Ends were even better at deductive reasoning than some of the villains. Dr. Garaki High was able to produce High Ends when One for All was free. After he was locked up, he had to undergo three months of surgeries to transplant Quirk and stabilize his health.
To manufacture each of his bioengineered soldiers, he had to go through an arduous process and dedicate years of his life to perfecting them.
