The third installment of Kengan Ashura will probably be the end of Tokita Ohma’s story and the end of Kengan Life or Death Tournament.
Although that doesn’t stop the franchise from continuing the anime with a new season and with a whole new story set after the events of Kengan Ashura.
In fact, there is already a sequel manga — Kengan Omega. It follows the story of Narushima Koga and the mysterious Gaoh Ryuki as they are tangled up in the underground Kengan matches.
1. Release Date
Right now, there isn’t any confirmation made yet regarding whether Kengan Omega will get an anime adaptation or not, but by judging the massive popularity of Kengan Ashura, it definitely will.
As soon as the final season of Kengan Ashura drops in July this year, Netlfix might announce a renewal or an entirely new series for the show, no one knows for sure.
2. Theory Section
In the theory section, I will discuss why’s and how’s of the anime, which studio might adapt it, and about the mangaka too.
I. About the Studio
For Kengan Ashura, the studio is Larx Entertainment, and to be honest, it is not the best of CGI we have seen.
However, there are moments when it excels, but it just lacks the X-factor of how to make the fighting more gruesome and cruel.
I am not belittling them, but if Madhouse were to adapt it (who apparently produced Hajime no Ippo too), they would do everything right and certainly maintain the manga’s developmental feel, unlike Larx Entertainment.
II About the Show
Set two years after the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, the manga introduced us to new main characters. It revealed that Ohma is alive after all. He has been living in the Kure Village for the past two years.
Narushima Koga and the mysterious Gaoh Ryuki, who have striking similarities to that of Ohma but have a dark history, are the new main characters.
The story follows our new characters’ journey from the underground Kengan matches to possibly the infamous tournament. Amidst all this, Tokita Ohma, as well as Kure Raian, prepare to take on the hordes of Worm members who had captured Yamashita Kazuo.
To be honest, Kengan Omega is equally exciting as its predecessor.
III. Why the show might get popular?
It has all the elements which Kengan Ashura had.
It’s gory, violent, gruesome, cruel. Above all, it has subtle character developments that strike a chord of admiration within people.
They even introduced a new mysterious main character Gaoh Ryuki who has a very similar appearance to that of Tokita Ohma. His physical build and the long messy dark black hair, everything just looks the same.
Sandrovich never forgot about Ohma too, he is well and alive. Alongside with Kure Raian, he is up against a certain organization who had kidnapped Yamashita Kazuo.
The fighting is still there, violence and wrath are still present, the rage just now has a new face. There is literally everything that made you fell in love with Kengan Ashura, so don’t be surprised if you also get attracted to this one.
IV. About the mangaka
It’s Yabako Sandrovich again, this man never stops to fascinate me. With his flawless writing and the awry yet beautiful art by Doraemon, the manga is a hit among the fans. As of now, 62 chapters have been published and are being loved by many of the fans.
After Kengan Ashura manga ended on August 9, 2018, Sandrovich and Daroemon started working on a sequel – Kengen Omega. It began its serialization on January 17, 2019, in Ura Sunday only.
3. Key Visual
There is no information regarding the key visual yet.
There is no confirmation of any PV as of now.
For now, we all need to wait for the final season of Kengan Ashura to come out on Netflix and then wait a tad bit more for the official announcement of “Kenga Omega.” Fingers crossed!
