Gol D. Roger, also known as Gold Roger, was never a devil fruit user. Now fans have had their suspicion for a while, but Kaido has finally confirmed the wild theories.

Rogers is considered one of the strongest characters in the manga, given that he was the only one to conquer the Grand Line. Thus, haki steals the show if he wasn’t a devil fruit user.

The chapter seems to indicate that haki holds a greater significance over fruits. Proper mastery over haki will lead an individual the conquer anything.

Kaido is confident that Luffy’s fruit powers won’t be enough to defeat him. He has probably defeated enough fruit users in the past to reach this conclusion. Is Kaido waiting for a haki user capable of defeating him?

Roger was also one of the few people who could use all three types of haki. Of course, our protagonist, Luffy, can also use the three types of haki, which gives him an edge in the fight.
