Confirms Gold Roger wasn’t a Devil Fruit User

One Piece chapter 1047 continues Kaido and Luffy’s big battle. Gol D. Roger, also known as Gold Roger, was never a devil fruit user.
Rogers is considered one of the strongest characters in the manga, given that he was the only one to conquer the Grand Line.
The chapter seems to indicate that haki holds a greater significance over fruits. Proper mastery over haki will lead an individual the conquer anything.
Kaido is confident that Luffy’s fruit powers won’t be enough to defeat him. He has probably defeated enough fruit users in the past to reach this conclusion.
Roger was also one of the few people who could use all three types of haki. Luffy can also use the three types of haki, which gives him an edge in the fight.
Right after Kaidou admits to the superiority of haki, Luffy decides to pull a giant haki punch on him.
