John Wick’s SDCC Panel Reveals Release Date for Prequel Show, Continental

Fans of John Wick can now mark their calendars for the premiere dates for each episode of The Continental: From The World Of John Wick as it dives into the dark history of the 1970s.

The Continental will follow young Winston (Colin Woodell) as he rises to power in the notorious hotel for assassins. The show will also feature Mel Gibson (Cormac), Hubert Point-Du Jour (Miles), and Ayomide Adegun (Charon) in its galactic ensemble of stars.

The entire saga is divided into three parts, each revealing new aspects of the John Wick lore.

In the official The Continental: From the World of John Wick panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Lionsgate and Peacock revealed the release dates for all three episodes of the prequel show. So, mark your calendars accordingly, as you don’t want to miss them!

Release dates weren’t the only thing revealed at that panel. We also got a glimpse of some exclusive first-look footage showcasing some of the show’s death-defying action sequences.

The official footage for The Continental is still unavailable to the public, but the detailed description hinted at everything from a frantic pursuit to several intense fight scenes and breathtaking stunts that will make you cover your eyes in horror! Let’s take a dive into those details, shall we?

The first look confirms that The Continental is a spinoff of John Wick and will have the same level of aggression and action as the original movies. 

The show is about a hotel for killers, so it’s evident that it will have a lot of action. However, the makers seem to have done it while staying true to the essence of John Wick.

The panelists said that “Night 3” will have ten fight scenes featuring non-stop adrenaline-blasting action. The prequel will also have scenes shot outside the US to add an exotic flavor intrinsic to John Wick.

We know that John Wick: Chapter 5 has been confirmed, but fans must wait many years before the film releases. In the meantime, this miniseries will keep the John Wick saga alive and prepare the ground for Keanu Reeves’ grand comeback whenever it happens!
