How to Watch Konosuba? Easy Watch Order Guide

Konosuba, one of the best isekai comedies, is a show about an otaku who finds himself in a dark void afterlife following his pathetic death.

After he tries to outsmart the goddess of death and chooses to spend time volunteering in a dangerous world, all his fanboy dreams come tumbling down when he realizes that his version of isekai isn’t going to make him an undefeatable mc.

With fantasy, action, comedy, and ecchi elements combined, Konosuba is more of a parody on the typical anime archetypes. The main characters are far from perfect and stay more or less the same by the end of season 1. They’re powerful in their own ways but have limitations that provide for the comedy in the anime.

If you love isekai anime, make sure to check out Konosuba!

4. Quick Review

I. Story

Konosuba is an anime that uses traditional anime archetypes to poke fun at specific genres. The story is simple, otaku boy dies and gets transported to another world where he finds himself surrounded by attractive females. The format of the show is similar to an RPG game where each character takes up roles like the healer, fighter and others.

However, the setting is where these repetitive elements end. The anime takes on many twists and turns and has a high comedic quotient, making it stand out among others of the same genre.

II. Characters

The characters are what make Konosuba really special. None of the characters is extremely powerful or overpowered. Even as a group, they have many limitations and are not the greatest. They have flaws that hold them back, and sometimes, arrogance gets the better of them.

Despite the flaws, they eventually accept each other and drive the show towards a satisfying ending.

III. Animation

The animation for Konosuba is average. Although there are some beautiful special effects for magical fights and the unique and vibrant character designs, the animation lacks fluidity, especially in Season 1.

IV. Sound

The soundtrack isn’t very special, either. The opening is one of those that makes you bored after two episodes, and the ending will make you want to skip it and move on to the next episode.

The battles have pretty amazing sound effects, but overall, it’s not something you’d listen to without the anime.

5. About Konosuba

Konosuba is a light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. Currently, there are a total of 16 volumes of the light novel series, and 17th is to be believed to be the last one, 5 of them have been adapted in the form of anime.

After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, a high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua.

She provides the NEET with two options: continue to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer’s dream—a real fantasy world!

Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless!

Unfortunately, their troubles don’t end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun!
