K-On! is a manga written and illustrated by Kakifly. The anime adaptation is directed by Naoko Yamada, written by Reiko Yoshida, and produced by Kyoto Animation.
Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, and Tsumugi Kotobuki barely save their high school band, Keion, from being disbanded. After saving the band, they spend most of their time practicing, playing, and hanging out together.
In their second year, they welcome another member into the band named Azusa Nakano, who takes a guitarist role. Soon, the five become famous and continue with separate musical endeavors after completing school.
