How much of the series will One Piece LA season 1 cover?

Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action series will drop hot this Thursday, 31st August. One-piece fanatics are over and beyond the moon.

With such a huge fandom for one of the longest-ever manga and anime, we are probably going to crash Netflix’s servers just as the animation of Gear 5 crashed the Crunchyroll servers.

Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action series will cover the initial 100 chapters of the manga or roughly 45 episodes of the anime within 8 episodes.

1. How much Manga material will One Piece LA season 1 cover?

Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action will produce a total of 8 episodes, which will encapsulate the initial 100 chapters of the manga and about 45 episodes of the anime.

The series will cover almost the entire East Blue Saga in One Piece, and the narrative will start off with the Romance Dawn arc and unfold all the way to the Loguetown Arc.

2. What changes have been made in the adaptation of the manga?

Here are some significant variations from the manga, according to the synopsis.

  • They introduce Garp (Vice-Admiral of the Marines), who is actively searching for Luffy, accompanied by Koby and Helmeppo.

However, in the manga, Luffy’s reunion with Koby and encounter with Garp occurred much later, around chapter 431 or episode 313 of the anime.

  • Usopp, aka God or the King of Snipers, seeks assistance from the Marines during the Syrup Village Arc.

This never happened in the manga or anime.

  • Also, the Warship Island filler arc won’t be covered in the live-action series.

4. Will there be a season 2?

Netflix has not officially confirmed a Season 2 release date. However, the show’s executive producer and chief writer, Matt Owens, is rumored to have begun composing the Season 2 script.

Additionally, there is a possibility for a potential Season 2 if the Live-Action One Piece series and the One-Piece Film Red hit it off successfully.

5. About One Piece (Netflix Series)

One Piece is a television series, serving as a live action adaptation of the ongoing 1997 Japanese manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. It is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Shueisha (who also publish the manga) and premiered on Netflix. It features an ensemble cast starring Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson and Taz Skylar.
