Looking for new things to watch this weekend? Here is a list of everything coming to your favourite streaming portals from June 5 to 7.
Before that, we have some highlights though. The first weekend of any new month is important for all streaming websites. While Netflix has a bunch of originals premiering this first week of June, Hulu, Amazon and HBO, all have at least one special launch.
The titles vary from feel-good, filled with drama to mind-bending, as is the need of the hour right now.
Queer Eye Season 5
The beloved makeover reality show is back with a season 5 based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this time. After an Emmy-sweep with its last season set in Tokyo, the heartwarming show is back with 10 special and all-round makeovers for the chosen ones.
This time the lucky guys include a pastor, DJ and a dog-groomer among others. If you are new to the show and its Fab Five, it is a one-of-a-kind makeover show hosted by Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness.
Equilibrium
This Amazon Original could be just the synopsis of our dangerously near future. Hear it out. A dystopic world where emotions and art are outlawed and law enforcement suppresses human nature with the help of a regulated drug administration among its civilians.
Let’s see how much justice does the film do synopsis which sounds eerily reflective of our times. The rest of the story is of a deviant born of the system and his fight to end the ways of the world.
13 Reasons Why
If the events of the last week weren’t enough to satisfy your crime fetish, here is the last season of the teen crime drama 13 Reasons Why. As we bid the cast adieu in this series finale, there are more secrets to be uncovered about your favourite characters.
The show had begun with the suicide of a high school student Hannah Baker who left a bunch of tapes with her friend Clay, naming all those responsible for her death.
Shirley
Find an escape from the real their horror of our times in this fictional world of horror writer Shirley Jackson. Shirley’s latest horror book could be her magnum opus but before she can finish it, there are guests to be entertained at her place.
She may be in tough spot in her marriage, but Shirley and her husband sure know how to keep a straight face before guests, who are incidentally newly-weds. Shirley and her husband decide to toy with the newly-weds even as Shirley is looking for inspiration for her book. How far will she go?
Other interesting titles to premiere this weekend include the epic thriller series Hannibal whose first few seasons are now available to binge on Netflix.
Even as the hysterical comedy special Gina Brillon: The Floor is Lava is ready for chuckles on Amazon Prime Video, while HBO’s Saturday movie is none other than the space film, Ad Astra.
