Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Super needs no introduction. Even if you don’t know any anime, you must have known about Goku at some point or the other. This crazy shonen manga with new powerups every two chapters has been reigning over the hearts of otakus for decades!

Toei Animation’s European website displayed an article headline which went: “Toei Animation Marks Goku Day With Surprise Announcement of New Dragon Ball Super Movie in 2022.

The headline is no longer available on the website and the link now redirects to a 404 error text. Thus the article has been removed as soon as it was detected by the authorities, proving that it was a mistake on the part of the staff.

The article was reportedly scheduled for publication on 9th May, but it was revealed early due to a technical error. Rest assured, there is a huge possibility of the movie being officially announced soon!

9th May is Goku Day, which commemorates the Dragon Ball series’ long run. Thus, it makes sense that such an announcement would be reserved for a special day. However, it looks like someone is up for an earful. (Yikes!)

Fans are hoping that after the Dragon Ball Super: Brolly film, the More arc will be adapted into a movie. However, Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga covers 27 chapters and is a major arc.

Some other major series like My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen, Overlord have already announced anime films for 2021 and 2022. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s massive success has prompted these movie decisions, and we are thoroughly enjoying it!

About Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball Super came into serialization in June 2015, edited and illustrated by Akira Toriyama and his protege Toyotaru, respectively.

Dragon Ball Super takes the DB universe to another level by introducing the long asleep God of Destruction, Beerus.

Beerus initially decided to decimate Earth but postpones his plans when discovering the fantastic food he had never eaten. He also hopes to fight Super Saiyajin God one day.
