Who knew that a hauntingly beautiful rhythmic musical game could be turned into an anime? Surprisingly, the upcoming DEEMO: Memorial Keys anime movie achieves the feat.
With games like Scarlet Nexus and Castlevania getting anime adaptations, mix-media franchises have become more common than ever before.
However, these games had a detailed story with gameplay to expand it. It is certainly rare to get an anime out of a simple rhythm game.
The official website for DEEMO: Memorial Keys has released the second key visual for the upcoming film. They also announced that the movie can be expected to come out later this year.
The visual shows Alice holding onto some papers, probably musical scores, while looking out of a window. We also see the Masked Girl holding a lantern, Hans the genius pianist, and Deemo playing the piano.
We also get a glimpse of the mysterious sakura tree whose petals are flying all around on a dark background.

DEEMO’s original story was just of a mysterious girl falling inside a castle. Other than that, it did not have anything to build on except its characters. But, even with just that, the producers seem to be doing fine.
We previously had a glimpse of the movie with the announcement of the main cast.
With the studio’s choice to go CG with the animation, the success of this movie really depends on its story. As for the characters and the music, we already know they are going to be great. If you are into them, make sure to check this out!
