Deadpool Writers Waiting For Kevin Feige’s Approval To Start Work On Third Film

Marvel Studios and Disney are debating over the future of Deadpool. The creative control of The Fantastic Four and X-men, including Deadpool, is now with Disney. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has nearly all of its characters back after the Disney-Fox merger.

The rumour mill says that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will be the first character introduced into the MCU. There were strong rumours of the inclusion of Deadpool in the latest Spiderman movie, which never ended up happening.

Earlier this week, Reese and Wernick revealed that they were planning to continue the mouthy series in its R-rated universe, a barrier which no MCU movie has yet crossed.

Now, in an interview with Fandom, they provided some insight to when exactly we could see the film. Apparently, all the eggs are in Kevin Feige’s basket.

“Kevin Feige has so much on his plate, and he is the master of the universe. When Kevin says it’s time, it’ll be time. That may be a year from now; it maybe six months from now, it maybe three years from now. He doesn’t make a wrong move, so whatever decision he makes will be the right one. Again, we’re ready to snap to it whenever Ryan gives us that call and says ‘Let’s go.’ And that’s also about finding the right idea and how that fits into the larger MCU universe. It’s a little more complicated than when we were at Fox, but we’re happy to be part of the MCU now, and whatever Kevin says, we do.”

Deadpool is the only character that will not be rebooted

The Deadpool series was a massive success for Fox worldwide and they can thank Ryan Reynolds for this. Other Fox properties are going to be rebooted, but Deadpool will remain the same. In fact, Ryan Reynolds has reportedly signed a new deal to integrate with the MCU.

So when can we see Deadpool?

The announcement of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has already happened, but we got nothing about the Merc with a Mouth. Thankfully there are growing rumours that he may appear in the MCU in 2020, which is yet to be confirmed by Disney.

There are many ways Disney can introduce Deadpool ranging from new alternate timeline theories, giving him a Disney plus show, or make him the part of the New Avengers team. What they end up doing is left to be seen. Kevin Feige has teased the formation of the New Avengers Team, and it surely includes Deadpool.

We also want the fourth wall breaker to do some ass-kicking in the MCU with some of our favourite superheroes.
