Clarice will not be related to the critically acclaimed series Hannibal, which is also set in the universe created by Thomas Harris. Fans of the psychological thriller have to wait some more to see their favorite characters from the show in a revival or a feature film.

Showrunner Alex Kurtzman has said that the show will not follow a procedural format like most crime dramas. Instead, it will narrate a serialized story from the point of view of Clarice Starling.

CBS has not announced a premiere date for Clarice.
