Now that Tama has decided to fight the situation alone, Tomozaki and everyone else can take it slow for now. Tama realized that, in some sense, she was a lot like Tomozaki, open-minded and weak in reading the room. She said that for a long time now, she has noticed how Tomozaki has changed himself quite a bit, so she wants him to teach her how to change, too.

3. Recap of Episode 2
Tomozaki’s plan to motivate Erika turned out to be a success. He prepared three arrows to shoot down Erika. The three hits were using her friend Yuzu to motivate her, her rivalry against Hinami as an advantage, and her feelings for Nakamura to give the final push.
The sports festival was a success as both boys had girls win their selective games. The real game started two or three days after the festival. News of Yuzu and Nakamura dating each other went public. Since verbally attacking them would be too obvious, Erika started lashing out at Hirabayshi.
At their afternoon meeting, Tomozaki told Hinami that something needed to be done about this situation, but Hinami refused. She said she was not obliged to help someone who didn’t want to help herself. Still, she assured him she would do something if things got any further than this.
Erika’s attacks continued, but one day, Tama protested against her. Ever since then the target of attacks switched from Hirabayashi to Tama. This continued for a long time, making even Hinami angry about the whole thing. Mimimi tried to accompany Tama as much as possible while Hinami attempted to control the mood of the classroom in her favor.
As a tactical gamer, Tomozaki could only see one way out of this mess. He deduced that if he could take Tama and get out of the battle or, in gaming terms, “retreat” for now, it should be ok. The next day, he told Tama about his plan. Surprisingly, she refused, saying that it may be hard, but it’d be even worse to change her ways and take the easy way out.
