Netflix Premieres Blue Period in October, Streaming and Broadcasting Schedule

Blue Period’s protagonist is a delinquent with good grades who sees the world through the glasses of pure logic. Thus, when the urge to immerse himself in art first appears, he is baffled.

With the series’ upcoming anime adaptation, we can see Yatora Yaguchi’s journey first-hand as he slowly gives in to his instinct and paints to express himself.

As someone who loves art, I have been anticipating the anime for a while now, so Netflix’s decision to stream it is a savior in disguise.

Blue Period’s official debut date is listed as October 1, 2021. Those who have been morose about the anime’s unavailability outside of Japan don’t have to lament anymore.

Netflix will advance-stream the Blue Period anime from September 25 in Japan and from October 9 outside Japan. New episodes will be released on a weekly schedule.

MBS, TBS, and other channels will broadcast the anime on October 1 in Japan. BS Asahi and AT-X will air it on October 3 and October 7, respectively.

Theme songs for this fantastic series have also been announced. Omoinotake performs “EVERBLUE,” the opening theme song of the series, and Mol-74 will perform the ending theme song, “Replica.”

A special program will be aired just before the anime’s debut on September 24 to enhance the charm of the anime. Voice actors Hiromu Mineta and Yume Miyamoto will be present in the program, and we can expect some tidbits about the series from them.

Blue Period’s awesome trailer and visuals captured my attention as soon as they were revealed. With a talented cast and staff members, studio Seven Arcs is determined to give the anime its best shot.

So get ready to go on a Netflix-aided journey to discover oneself with a cynical protagonist who falls in love with art.

About Blue Period

The Blue Period manga is created by Tsubasa Yamaguchi and published by Kodansha.  It was first serialized in Afternoon magazine in June 2017.

The Blue Period revolves around the life of Yataro Yaguchi, a highschool student. Yataro looks like a model student on the outside but fights with hollowness on the inside.

He is fascinated by a painting of the Art club and decides to take up art as a profession. His path is filled with obstacles, but he still expresses himself proudly with colors instead of words.
