2. Episode 3 Speculation
Now that the exorcists know which organization has been behind all these recent demon-sighting incidents, they can take proper steps to stop them. “The Illuminati” is an organization we know almost nothing about except that they have huge technical and financial power. Saburota Todo is also one of their members and has actively participated in the opening of the Gehenna Gate.
On the other hand, Pheles’s true intentions still remain a mystery. Whether he is on the human’s or the demon’s side is an extremely important question for the world’s fate. We now know that he is one of the demon kings, so it is quite strange for him to be helping the humans. Aside from all these serious matters, Shiemi and Kamiki’s relation seems to have turned much friendlier after their duo mission against the demon in the girl’s dorm.
3. Recap of Episode 2
The episode starts with a grand meeting of the exorcists in the Vatican. Yukio Okumura, Rin’s brother was also present there. He was made to seal the Morinath contract using his blood before he was questioned about Saburota Todo.
After he left the meeting and got the results of his physical checkup, he was quite surprised. Seeing that nothing was wrong with his body, he worried whether he had inherited Satan’s flames. With several questions on his mind, he returned home and woke up Rin.
After taking a shower, he left for Shiemi’s place to tutor her. While helping her with her studies, he reminisced about the past and all those unanswered questions that had been piling up. To this day, he still can’t understand lord Pheles’s true goals and which side he is on. Is it humans or demons?
Later, at the school, he gathered Rin and his friends to assign them their next mission. He tells them about a demon named Mayuko that had been haunting the girl’s dorm. Hearing that only girls could see this demon and she had to work with Shiemi, Kamiki became hostile. Yukio put a stop to this fight and told them they had to help each other in order to succeed.
The next day, Yukio told the girls to go ahead to check the restrooms while the others got ready. Shiemi and Kamiki proceeded with the mission and checked the place after the others reached outside the restroom. Soon enough, they find the ghost, and even though they struggle a bit at first, they manage to take it down with their joint efforts.
On the other side of the world, in Russia, high-ranked exorcists such as Lightning and Arthur raided an organization building since it had been stirring up problems. There, they found something really malicious, which Lightning identified as the “Gehenna Gate”.
All of them are shocked once they realize this is made by humans. Pheles arrived to help them and cast a barrier that stops time inside of it. This way, they can suspend the expansion of the gate for nearly three to four months. After seeing this evil creation, Lightning is able to identify the enemy as the organization named “The Illuminati”.

Blue Exorcist is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Kazue Katō.
In the Blue Exorcist Universe, there are two different realms called Assiah and Gehenna. Assiah is where ordinary humans live, and Gehenna is the world of demons. The only way to travel between the two worlds is by possession.
Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, decides to conquer Assiah, but to do so, he must possess a human. Unfortunately for him, he does not find a suitable vessel and hence, sends his own son, expecting him to grow into a suitable vessel.
Rin Okumura, a regular teenager with quite a temper, has no idea that his actual father was Satan. Nor did he know about being a suitable vessel. However, after eventually discovering his fate, he decides to change it and joins an academy to train to become an exorcist so that he could foil Satan’s plans.
