2. Episode 121 Preview & Speculation (NO SPOILERS)

The end credits preview at the end of episode 120 surprised fans with a major cliffhanger – Julis Novachrono is alive!

We believe Julius was somehow able to use his Time Magic to cheat death. Julius Novachrono, the 28th Wizard King, can control time itself and has shown to have superior control over his ridiculously large mana.

It won’t be just a plot armor for a talented character but the real test of his skills. The specifics of his resurrection are currently unknown in the anime, but it is something that has left fans thunderstruck.

3. How Is Julius Alive? [Manga Spoilers]

It is revealed in chapter 215 of the manga that his own time magic saved Julius. If you guys have noticed, Julius Novachrono had a star-shaped mark on his forehead. On his wanderings, he found the magic storage device designed by Lumiere and Secre. He has been storing some time into the mark for years, thanks to the Time Magic.

After his fight with Patry, Julius was surely dead. Due to his death, the Time Magic was activated, and Julius Novachrono came back to life. However, he lost all the time he saved into reviving himself. The mark can be seen fading away from his forehead on both anime and manga.

4. What Are Three Problems? [Manga Spoilers]

In the manga, the resurrected Wizard King Julius Novachrono states that there are three problems currently being faced by the kingdom.

First, the Wizard King is gone. Even though Julius is alive, he lost most of his fighting prowess and mana reserves.

The second problem was the destruction of the Clover Kingdom. Julius says that if nothing changes, i.e., the mages of the clover kingdom do not become strong, the kingdom will be destroyed. He possibly knows about Spade’s invasion in various other plans.

The third problem is the death of Asta. Julius reveals that due to the whole resurrection of elves, most of the Magic Knights are on shaky ground. But it wasn’t their fault, to begin with; it was Devils’ fault. Julius further adds that keeping everything in mind, the Magic Parliament will find the power of the Devil – Asta, guilty, and condemn it to death.

5. Plot of Episode 120 – Dawn

Episode 120 was rather short and fun-filled. The episode starts with flashbacks from ep 119 that show Asta and Yami defeating the Devil of Kotodama Magic.

In the next scene, the Devil of Anti-magic or the Asta’s Devil is seen where he walks the Kotodama devil and addresses it as its superior. Back to the present, the Shadow Palace is now on the verge of crumbling. Still, Lumiere is down, and there is nothing to protect anyone from Devil’s remaining magic.

A miracle occurs when the former eye of the midnight sun member, Valtos, protected everyone by transporting them aside. It is now the time to awaken the rest of the humans too, so Licht and William use a Union Magic and form a bond with all the elves through World Tree magic.

However, when the elves were parting their ways, Rados acts on his instincts and binds Patry’s soul to the artificial body of Licht. The chapter ends with Yami and William visiting Julius’s grave, but he’s not there. Suddenly a young boy appears in front of them, and a child with characteristics of Julius is shown. Yami also seems to recognize him as Julius Novachrono.
