As if having a four-leaf grimoire wasn’t enough, Yuno also received a second Spade kingdom grimoire in the last chapter, and I’ve been dying to know what power it holds. It turns out, as the royal child, Yuno gets special privileges.

Yuno’s father possessed sun magic while his mother possessed moon magic. The Spade kingdom royals had their unique magic that is passed down through the generations. As the child of the royal family, Yuno possesses star magic.

Yuno seems to be an expert in using the grimoire as soon as the battle starts. Right off the bat, he uses Star Magic: Quartile Scutum and Conjunction to attack Zenon. He can even teleport between the stars he creates. The ensuing battle between Zenon and Yuno is too fast to perceive.

His teleportation power might not be based on the fact that stars are often joined as constellations. Perhaps we’ll see more moves based on constellations next.

The moment Zenon realized that Yuno is the child he had failed to kill more than a decade ago is so beautifully portrayed that I can’t help but applaud Tabata-sensei.

I love how all the characters in the story are getting paid equal attention, and even Magna has become the ultimate underdog story. Noelle and Yuno are receiving boosts, which makes me look forward to just how tough of a matchup Asta will face.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves yet because Zenon still stands undefeated. You never know what he might next sell to Beelzebub, so I guess keeping on his toes will do Yuno good.
