Chapter 308 of the Black Clover manga has silenced all speculations about Yuno’s next power-up as something unbelievable has just happened.

Probably for the first time in Black Clover’s history, a mage has acquired a second grimoire, and it’s Yuno who is sporting it in style.

Now we know for sure that the wind magic grimoire that Yuno had earlier was due to the reincarnated spirit of Licht and Tetia’s son. So, that means the new grimoire belongs solely to Yuno’s own spirit. (I can already imagine Asta making him the butt of they/them jokes)

Yuno’s new grimoire is a spade grimoire that once again indicates his lineage as people receive grimoires from the kingdom that they originally belong to.

The spade grimoire’s power will be revealed in the next chapter, and it will unveil Yuno’s actual magic affinity. Will Yuno’s new magic be one of the common elementals or something totally new? I am hoping that the grimoire will support his preexisting wind magic.

It is a magnificent sight when Yuno stands back up against Zenon with two grimoires and his sylph in hand. To be honest, for a second there, I was also worried that he might get a five-clover grimoire of despair.

Tabata-sensei has been generous with his characters’ power-ups in the ongoing arc, but Yuno’s is something that none of us could ever guess. Hats off to sensei.

Fans are guessing that Yuno has already unlocked the Saint Stage, and the next chapter will confirm our doubts. Now that he has two grimoires, he is on par with Zenon, who possesses Beelzebub’s heart.

I cannot wait for the moment when Asta finds out about his buddy’s new achievements and goes starry-eyed again. After all of these devils vs. mages battles are over, I would love to see Asta and Yuno have a friendly match.
