Even if the production house had nothing to do with the 1987-classic The Princess Bride, it has now released the classic comedy on Disney+.

What better way to announce it to the world than its lead couple coming together on a video call to share the news. Shared by the official Disney+ Instagram account, the video is actually a video call of lead characters Westley (Cary Elwes) and Buttercup (Robin Wright).

The senior actors talk about how they could watch The Princess Bride again on Disney+, starting May 1.

‘As you wish!’

In the video, Cary is seen asking Robin, “Are you bored yet?”

To which she replies, “No! You?”

“Not even! But if I was stuck in front of my TV, I could think of some real fun things to watch like that Princess Bride movie we made together.”

And when she asks, “Hmm, is that on again?” Cary reveals: “On Disney+ starting May 1.”

A cheeky Robin then asks, “Does that mean we’ll get to take a selfie with Mickey?”

“They better say ‘as you wish’ to that or I want no part in it,” Cary says even as Robin breaks into a laugh and adds, “Oh, my Westley!”

The film premieres once again on May 1 on the Disney+ platform.

The Princess Bride gathered a huge fan following ever since its release 33 years ago. Based on William Goldman’s novel of the same name, the fantastical film is the love story of a farmhand played by Cary.

Rob Reiner directed the all-star cast, with Cary Elwes and Robin Wright as its lead lovers as well as Mandy Patinkin, Christopher Guest, and André, the Giant in supporting roles. It is witty, silly, and the sheer joy of a film to watch, especially in these troubled times!
