Amazon has secured the rights to Crime 101, a heart-racing crime thriller starring Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal, after a fierce bidding between Netflix and Amazon.
The movie is an adaptation of a novella by Don Winslow, who is also the screenplay writer. The story features a hunt for a cunning jewel thief along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway with lots of action and drama.
Crime 101 was a hot commodity in the market, with both Amazon and Netflix vying for it. Puck reports that Amazon clinched the deal with a $90 million offer, which was actually lower than Netflix’s bid. However, Amazon won over the production team by promising a theatrical release, while Netflix wanted to alter the script.
