There are a lot of big anime that are airing as the new season of anime has just begun, from returning series like ‘Jujutsu Kaisaen’ to newly added ones like ‘My Happy Marriage’ and many more, but sometimes these big-budget anime overshadow the small indie anime that are made by very few people.
One of the most ambitious projects of 2023, ‘Yuri Robot,’ an indie anime, has dropped its first episode.
On Sunday, the Volicia of Pluto -Vapor Trail Another Age 2006- (Bsei no Volicia: Dai Issh: Kka) independent animation project’s official website began streaming the whole series. The video below is available to see until August 31. The video has English and Japanese subtitles.
You can find the first episode of the anime on the official YouTube channel of Yuri Robot Animation. The anime was also screened at Osu Cinema in Nagoya from July 3 to July 9.

23-year-old AsH is the anime’s director, editor, screenplay, animator, and cinematographer. The music was composed by Nagiha, and the sound effects were handled by Kona, a.k.a. Fukutarau. Production collaboration is credited to Zerogosha.
If you are a fan of sci-fi anime, then ‘Yuri Robot Animation’ is something you should try. While the anime budget is not as big as the mainstream releases, its animation is beautiful.

Yuri Robot Anime Volicia of Pluto is an original independent anime by AsH.
The anime takes place in 2006, and centers on Akio Hoshigami, who due to a leg injury is forced to give up on her dream of being a track-and-field star. Akio and her friend Ayano Umisoe move on to high school together.
Amidst new activities and meeting new friends, Akio gradually starts acting like herself again. Then one day Ayano suddenly disappears.
