If you love romantic comedies, then prepare yourselves for an absolutely new series. Okemaru’s “Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha” light novel series will come to life as a TV anime in 2023.
On Friday, Pony Canyon released the first teaser and key visual for the anime series, revealing the main cast and staff members as well. The anime adaptation will be produced by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. According to the announcement, the anime will be released sometime in 2023.

Originally released in 2018 on Shosetsuka ni Naro, the light novels are being serialized since 2020 by Hobby Japan, with seven volumes out as of now. Since the anime will be releasing in 2023, we can expect the exact release date in the spring at most.

“Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha” (The Dreaming Man is a Realist) is a light novel series by Okemaru and illustrated by Saba Mizore. Originally published in 2018 on Shosetsuka ni Naro, it was published by Hobby Japan as a light novel in 2020. An anime adaptation will debut in 2023.
High-school student Wataru Sajo falls in love with Aika Natsukawa, his classmate. He dreams of her mutual love and continues to approach her, while Aika finds him absolutely annoying. But one day, he somehow gets disillusioned and keeps himself away from Aika, who is now trying to make sense of his change in behavior.
