It has only been a week since the first two episodes came out, and the start has been relatively slow. But we are Yellowstone fans, and we trust Taylor Sheridan’s writing.
With this hope, we started watching episode 3, “Tall Drunk of Water”, and Sheridan delivered this time!
A concoction of powerful moments and emotional punches, this week’s episode alters the character arcs for many characters, and the changes feel organic. They will change the course of the season and modify the storyline of Yellowstone for sure!
Without much ado, let’s discuss the ending of this episode:
The finale of this episode sees Beth going to a local bar with her bunkmates. Earlier, Lloyd’s birthday celebrations were ruined by the arrival of Forest Conservation officers.
Beth and Rip finally get some time away from work, and the vibe remains positive throughout.
However, a quick turn of events ruins the entire mood.
A woman named Hailey approaches Rip and starts hitting on him. Rip is visibly uncomfortable and tries to resist, but the woman insists on hooking up.
Beth is enraged by the woman’s audacity to attempt to have sex with her husband. In a fit of rage, she starts a full-on fight inside the bar, throwing punches and kicking the woman.
The police arrive after some time, and the ruckus is finally stopped but Beth had already smashed a beer bottle on Hailey’s head by then.
The police are forced to handcuff Beth after their attempt to make peace goes in vain. Rip tries to reason with the inspector and threatens him with the risk of arresting the governor’s daughter. But the arrest happens, nevertheless.
Sheriff Ramsay finally arrives on the scene and examines the situation. Hailey decides to press charges against Beth. This leaves the Sheriff with no option but to take her into custody.
We know that Sheriff Ramsey hates corruption and exemplifies self-righteousness. Thus, it is difficult for Beth to get off the hook this time. Beth’s arrest does nullify the victory against Market Equities that she had earlier in this episode.
It will be interesting to see the steps the Duttons take to free her.
