Thorfinn is a Jomsviking warrior and the son of Thors and Helga. He spent an obnoxiously long time trying to avenge his father, who Askeladd killed. He lived his life killing innocent people without a hint of remorse.
However, he later becomes a pacifist who only wants to build a peaceful dreamland for everybody. He sets sail to Vinland. However, the natives do not seem ready to give up their land, and a battle seems inevitable.
Will Thorfinn die trying to achieve his dream, or will he be successful? Let’s find out!
Thorfinn has decided to take a pacifistic approach and not fight anymore. However, he is at odds with the natives. He will most likely fight again to protect his family and men. He will most likely succeed and achieve his dream.
Thorfinn’s Journey to Pacifism!
Thorfinn was a ruthless, no-nonsense warrior who took the lives of many in the name of revenge. However, after the death of Askeladd in the hands of Canute, he no longer had any purpose in life. He was sold off as a slave for attacking Canute, where he lived his life without a purpose.
Slowly, with the help of Einar, he began to see life from a different perspective. Thorfinn decided that he wanted to build a peaceful dreamland where everybody was safe. Thorfinn also adopts a pacifist approach where he decides not to kill people without reason.
This will not be easy since the natives of Vinland do not seem to like the idea of the invasion and giving up their land. Thorfinn might have to use violence to achieve his dream.
Will Thorfinn die trying to achieve his dream?
Thorfinn adopted a pacifistic approach, and it is difficult for us to say whether he will fight again or die trying to convince the natives.
However, we know that the Vinland Saga is heavily inspired by real history. It is not the exact retelling of the events, but the basic crux is still true to real life.
Thorfinn Karlsefni was known for being the first Scandinavian explorer to occupy Vinland. Thorfinn is loosely based on this real-life person.
If Yukimura decides to make the story historically accurate, Thorfinn will likely fight the natives and achieve his dream. However, the killing wouldn’t be meaningless like in his younger days and instead be for making a peaceful dreamland.
Even if we think logically, it won’t make sense for Thorfinn to die. There is nothing that he would change, and there wouldn’t be a conclusion to the story.
There are just assumptions, but we have to wait and watch for Yukimura to finish the manga!
