Beast Tamer tells the story of Rein, who’s expelled from his party because he’s an incompetent beast tamer. He unlocks his true potential after rescuing and forming a contract with Kanade, who belongs to one of the strongest races in the series called Cat Tribe.
The first season of the anime started airing in October 2022 and the finale will air on Christmas this year. As the imminent end of season 1 approaches, many fans have been wondering if the anime will get a second season.
No official news regarding the release or production of Beast Tamer’s second season has been announced yet. The viewership rate, audience reactions, and several other factors will determine whether the anime will be renewed or not.
What will Beast Tamer season 2 be about?
The renewal status of Beast Tamer is still uncertain, since the anime received a lukewarm response. Though many people enjoyed watching the well-rounded characters interact, the plot came off as generic.

Season 1 covered the first three volumes, adapting around 60 chapters and 33 chapters of the light novel and manga respectively. The first season ends with Rein and his party defeating the demon that killed his parents and stopping him from wreaking havoc in Horizon.
Season 2 will pick up the story from volume 3. After defeating the demon, Rein and his party become heroes of Horizon and set out to search for a house at Natalie’s recommendation. During their house hunt, they come across the ghost of a chatty maid called Tina.
Rein and his party come to know that Tina was murdered, so they vow to seek revenge for Tina. But things take a turn for the worse when an Assassin starts to stalk them and Kanade’s mother drops by to take back her daughter.
Beast Tamer manga and light novel status
Season 2 won’t be dropped any time soon, so meanwhile, you can try reading Beast Tamer’s manga and light novel. The anime skipped many world-building aspects of the story, so if you wish to dive deeper into the world of Beast Tamer, both the manga and light novel are worth a shot.
Eight volumes of the light novel are released so far. Around two volumes are released each year, so we can expect the release of volume 9 in early 2023. However, the light novel hasn’t received an official English translation.
Meanwhile, the manga has seven volumes, though the release of brand-new chapters is highly sporadic. The manga did go on a hiatus for a while, but it has begun serializing again. The newest volume was released in September 2022.
