The hit anime, ‘Tokyo Revengers season 1,’ has come to an end, leaving the entire anime community heartbroken with the way season 1 ended. After that dynamic show, season 2 is currently in high demand. 

The anime’s storyline, plot twists, and dynamic characters were so unique that it drew otakus like moths to a flame. 

The series certainly did make a lasting impression, and I can’t wait to get more of Takemichi and his pending mission.

Thus, I couldn’t help but wonder when I could expect another season of non-stop action, especially because season 1 ended on such an incredible cliffhanger.

Will there be a Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers?

Studio Liden Films that worked on season 1 is yet to confirm season 2 of Tokyo Revengers. Given the popularity of the series, Tokyo Revengers season 2 is undoubtedly going to happen.

Season 1 of the anime has been quite popular, so much so that Warner Bros. even released a live-action adaptation of Tokyo Revengers. So, there’s no reason for the studio to let go of this incredible project without completing its story.

Talking of story, Tokyo Revengers manga has released a total of 23 volumes to date. Season 1 of the anime only adapted around eight volumes.

So, the studio already has enough material to release another season. There are chances that Liden Films might already be working on season 2.

Release Date: When is Tokyo Revengers season 2 coming?

Tokyo Revengers season 2 has not been officially confirmed yet but it’ll most likely happen in 2022 given the success of the first season. Tokyo Revengers season 2 will cover the Black Dragon arc from the manga with a total of 24 episodes.

Tokyo Revengers anime was announced in June 2020 and aired from April 2021 to September 2021. So, it took almost ten months to produce season 1. Considering this, season 2 can be expected by mid or late 2022.


The last episode of the previous season adapted till chapter 73 of the manga. Tokyo Revengers season 2 will likely start from chapter 74 and follow the Black Dragon Arc.

The plot will follow Toman being a well-structured gang in the future, with Takemichi finding out he is a top admin in Toman.

Once the number one gang in Tokyo during its prime, the Black Dragon will come into play in season 2. Takemichi also finds out that Toman now has two of the Black Dragon members joining them. Things haven’t changed yet as Kisaki still rules over Toman.

So, Takemichi once again has to go back in time to remove both the Black Dragons and Kisaki from Toman to save those he cares about.

New Characters

Besides season 1 characters, we’ll get new characters in the upcoming season. Some of them are:

1. Taiju Shiba

Taiju Shiba is an antagonist of Tokyo Revengers and the former 10th leader of the Black Dragon. Taiju is brutal, abusive, and religious.

2. Yuzuha Shiba

Yuzuha Shiba is the middle Shiba sibling. She is the younger sister of Taiju Shiba and the older sister of Hakkai Shiba. She is a very caring and energetic person.

3. Hajime Kokonoi

Hajime Kokonoi

Hajime Kokonoi is the former tenth-generation Black Dragon commander. He is a former member of the First Division of Toman and Tenjiku’s former treasurer. Currently, he is an executive of Bonten.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017. It is an ongoing manga that received its 17th compiled book volume on May 15.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
