Fans were quite shocked when Power was killed off by Makima during the Control Devil arc. As Power was a fan favorite, many people in the fandom demanded her revival in the series.
Since Power is a devil fiend and not human, does she have a chance to return in the series once more?
Power might return in Chainsaw Man since devils reincarnate in Hell when they die. However, her memories will be erased and she might turn into Denji’s enemy. It’s also quite possible that the Blood devil will revive but she won’t since she’s truly dead.
Let’s take a deeper look at Power’s death in Chainsaw Man and how there’s a chance she might revive and be reunited with Denji.
How does Power die?
Power dies at the hands of Makima in the manga during the Control Devil arc. Makima uses the power of Gun Devil against Power and shoots her to kill her.
Makima was spending time with Denji in her apartment during his birthday. That’s when Power arrived at her doorstep, to surprise Denji with a birthday cake. However, Makima ends up killing Power with the Gun Devil by blowing Power’s torso off, sparing only her hands and legs.
Power would have been able to revive if she drank the blood of a stronger devil, but Makima doesn’t allow that to happen.
Power barely survives this attack, since she had offered some of her own blood to Denji earlier and hence, transferred her consciousness to Denji. She eventually becomes one with Denji and forms a contract with him so he can take down Makima.
Will Power revive in Chainsaw Man?
Power is dead for sure in the Chainsaw Man manga, but we cannot deny the possibility of her making a comeback as a reincarnation of Blood Devil since devils do reincarnate.
The existence of devils can’t be wiped out completely by any other devil or devil hunter, except the Chainsaw Devil. When Makima kills Power, she only kills the current incarnation of Blood Devil and not the concept of the Blood Devil itself.
We can safely say that Power reincarnated in Hell after she died if we take a look at her last words to Denji. When she’s forming a contract with Denji, she asks him to promise her to find the Blood Devil in Hell again in exchange for her blood.
That’s why a fan theory has been going around in the circles of the Chainsaw Man fandom that Denji might go back to Hell to find Power. Unfortunately, she might end up being his enemy if he does face her since she won’t remember any memories she made with him in her previous incarnation.
Another reason why Power might return in the manga is that she has always been a huge fan favorite. Many fans were against her sudden death since she was quite relevant to the story.
There’s another possibility that Power is truly dead since devil fiends aren’t truly immortal. Devil fiends can be destroyed forever if heavy trauma is inflicted on their bodies. Hence, The Blood Devil might survive and reincarnate, but Power might not.
Nonetheless, the author hasn’t hinted at anything regarding Power’s comeback in the manga at the moment.
Where is Power right now?
The current whereabouts of Power are unknown, but we can speculate that she has reincarnated and has been born as the Blood Devil in Hell. She won’t retain any memories regarding her relationship with Denji and other friends if she is reborn in Hell though.
Why did Makima kill Power?
Makima killed Power for no particular reason, except to watch Denji suffer. Power shared quite a close bond with Denji, and killing her will obviously cause a lot of emotional pain to Denji.
Power posed no real threat to her as well to motivate her to kill the Blood Devil for good since the Control Devil considered Power to be inferior to her.
